Was going to say this is a wake-up call for the rest, but perhaps a poor choice of words.

You're going to the pharmacy in the leafy suburbs probably. Around these parts you can buy pretty much anything as long as you have the cash. Only thing that they refuse to sell you is Rohypnol and Morphine. Everything else goes.

That's also stupid, but not the same. Benadryl is for allergies and its active ingredient is Diphenhydramine.

The active ingredient in the cough mixture they were looking for is Codeine.... Opium. Combining it with alcohol is doubling up on "downers", they both suppress the nervous system. There wouldn't be hallucinations, probably a bit of sleepy/dreamy state, followed by loss of consciousness and finally respiratory failure.

Yes. but you need to purchase it in quantity (minimum order - a box of 30 for ~R160) or they won't sell to you from what my associates have said. The 1mg white relative is much more commonly requested although it is a tad more expensive.
 
Back in the early 2000s it was called robo-tripping(online), drinking large quantities of Dextromethorphan based cough syrup, generally its enough to put the person in a trip and hallucinate, seems people are still doing it, seems like a terrible way to get high.

PS First time I see people doing it with codeine and alchole?
 
What's laughable is how the headline pretends this is nuanced by putting 'drinks' in quotes.
 
Can guarantee her parents are now saying "someone should warn the teenagers about why this is bad for them! we need more awareness!"

Back to your question:
Only ever heard about the stories; never done it myself and have no interest in experimenting.

Don't know if a slice is enough; from what I recall they used to take whole or half loaves. The bread acts as a filter to remove the purple dye and turns a purple-blue colour as the dye is absorbed.

They dubbed the loaf the blue train and for those really desperate or completely off their rocker, would eat the loaf.

I presume the loaf could also remove other properties , like "cutting" the taste.
 
At the pharmacy where I work there is one lighty that comes almost every week and sometimes numerous times a week to request stilpayne syrup,it's farken annoying,he knows we will say no but he will still persistently ask for it we just tell anyone requesting it by name that we don't sell it if you request it by name.Your normal corporate pharmacies like dischem and clicks tend to be more strict a however with those dodgy independent pharmacies it is a different story as they need to make money somehow to compete against the corporates.

It makes a lot of sense. In fact, I imagined the entire loaf as I was going through the process in my head since a slice is too small in my opinion. Also, something would react with the starch in bread. I just didn't have white bread to experiment with.
