Sandhurst has some beautiful houses ... I don't like the ostentatious ones built with new money, just the more classic (and classy) old houses.

The old ones suck. I always feel lost and bored in them, and the sound of walking on those old wooden floors is highly annoying.

If I could choose, I'd live in a smalllish renovated property like this one . There 's just something about it that appeals to me much more than the whispers of money.

I think they skrewed someone over (either the tax payers, or customers) to get there. Most of these guys got some head start via government corruption or family contacts.

Regardless, I respect these guys for being 'successful', but 25% of the wealth to 0.1% is a big gap. There should be more 'successful' people - ie. More 'very rich' rather than a few 'mega rich'. This just shows how monopolistic SA is.

I'm not so sure, I have no hard evidence but I would guess that if you don't have some kind of investment in SA, you would move your R250 000 000 to another country. Hell, I would.

Not a fan of huge mansions myself, especially for a small family. I do like something cosy and contemporary, where everything doesn't echo throughout the house And yes, having a 10-seater home cinema is pretty awesome.
