Stupid stupid iPad!

OK, so I am not having any luck!

I had a Galaxy Tab, but it couldn't link up to my work's network (proxy settings). So I sold it and bought an iPad as I really need to have access during the day.

It worked a charm.

Now the problem. I have been playing the game, The Hobbit, on the ipad. I made some purchases over the weekend (loaded an itunes voucher) and it worked fine. Then I noticed that I keep being charged tax on the purchase. So, I read suggestions to change the city in the USA account and it would not charge tax. I did that, because frankly, it's irritating buying a $20 itunes voucher, for a $19.99 game and being told you don't have sufficient credit.

So, I changed the address and now I can't buy from the app anymore? It says: "Your purchase could not be completed. contact itunes support" and when I close that screen, it says "Connect to Itunes error"!

I contacted Kabam (who runs the game) and they say to contact iTunes. Itunes told me "there are irregularities" on the account and they can't help. Ofcourse there are "irregularies"! SA itunes don't stock this game and I want to play it! Lol

Any suggestions about the error I am getting? I have considered loaning someone's samsung tablet and loading the game on there and doing the in app purchasing from there (works so easy from android).

Google US states that do not charge sales tax. I "stay" in the Beaverton community library on my US PlayStation Account, as Oregon State has no sales tax. Also, Beaverton made me chuckle.

thanks for the suggestion. If they made all these games, etc available to the SA store, we would not have had this problem! LOL
 
How is being taxed the iPad's fault?

Blame Obama if you want to blame anyone.

You'd need to change to a state without sales tax. And then pick an address within that state. I doubt it's any good just changing a city.

You forgot to say why it's the iPad's fault.
 
I just hate apple. Should have stayed away from it. I would love to buy the apps, but it's not available to me in South Africa. So I have to resort to getting a US account. and now I can't buy in app games.

With Android, it works. I log on and I can download - simple!
 
Shame man, welcome to itunes account hell. My wife is often cussing her ipad :D

Siri gets offended when I do that.

I'm not sure if you can still do it with SA accounts but I changed my country to Kenya and was able to download all the games I wanted and pay with my SA creditcard.

Oh, and blame FPB for the state of the iTS in SA.

Google wallet works fine for me no matter what country I input. Apple should go get some advice from Google :D Sure no one is perfect, but some are harder than others.

It just doesn't make sense! Sell the ipad here but give us only a taste of the apps? I mean, wth!

You don't pay for the game, only if you want to buy anything instore. The game has had over a million downloads, so they are having a great sale on their "mithril" - the in game currency. I bought some over the weekend, but this morning it didn't work.

After speaking to a consultant now, I think I know what the problem is. Over the weekend I was using my wifi at home. Not sure if they can pick up the address (I have it set up so that Netflix works). And at work I use the 3G or work wifi.

It must have picked up I am from South Africa. Apple support didn't specify that, but they referred me to their terms and conditions blah blah blah
