Subaru ??

Yes its ugly, yes, it's interior isn't the best. Yes, the creature comforts are sometimes lacking; Yes the car looks ugly and yes there's even pink in some of the models! But boy oh boy, you have to drive one (properly) to understand.

Happy owner of a '06 WRX STi (hawk eye). My third impreza; have had it for 5 years now and just can't see myself ever selling it.
(Its the one with the gold mags, large boot spoiler and has bits of pink inside and outside << std features :))

Actually, I think we are doing a rather inadequate job in explaining why enthusiasts enjoy this car:

OP- it's because of the sound and performance on the (unique) boxer engine, allied to the 50:50 weight distribution. It's a supercar-killer for a fraction of the price (in all other countries except ours).

It's reputation is built on the years of rallying success that Subaru have achieved, and how this car (along with the Lancer Evo and the Escort Cosworth) became the poster boys for the WRC, after the demise of the Group B supercars.

The shape reminds me too much of a 1996 Nissan Sentra, which is why I never liked it.

My very first car was a 1996 Nissan Sentra - that car was boss! Coming home from varsity, drifting around the fountains circle, those were the days :P

All I'll say is that they are very nice to drive and solidly built.

As a happy owner of a hawk eye impreza and huge fan of subaru I must say there's just something about them that brings a smile to your face. They do handle extremely well and are very reliable. You would have to live with one for a while though as first impressions isn't subarus thing especially because they aren't everyone's cup of tea in terms of looks and features. They rank up there with the best in terms of brand loyalty and personally, I cannot see myself driving anything else:)

No. It's quite obvious.

A person who compares a Golden Arrow bus to a Subaru clearly doesn't know much about cars.

Not sure how much one is supposed to "know" about cars to comment, but I have owned cars of most of the main brands over the years.
It's just Subaru, has not been one of them, and my one time in one was somewhat uninspiring !

Fair enough.

I guess if everyone liked the same thing there would only be one car on the road in one colour. :p

Lada?

Any car would be uninspiring if driven like a 'grandmother' but Subaru more so given its dynamics. The ride is pretty firm in a Subaru for example.

That makes two of us... I saw an Evo X at the Mitsubishi dealership down the road from me... Still, I'll take an Evo VI anyday...

Oh, and OP:

That is all.

I cant quite see the details in the pic, is that a 2 door or 4 door?
There was nothing quite like the mighty 22B from that era.
Those were the days for evo's and impreza's though. The evo VI was one super awesome car.
