Subaru

Scooby is the slowest?

It's not about top speed or even acceleration, it's about the ability of a car to get from A to B in the shortest time...

Merc Lap Time: 1:26.20

BMW Lap Time: 1:26.37

STi Lap Time: 1:26.12

Who crossed the line first??? :p

BMW, the numbers are bigger? :D

Fail
A-B is a straight line. Scooby fails.
It is about top speed and acceleration.

All those times can be changed by ,5bar tyre pressures. Proves nothing to me.

I think Subaru is irrelevant today, everyone else has caught up. If you think what Subaru is all about, cheap supercar thrills. Everyone's doing it now and doing it well.

Your esteemed opinion is noted - I see that you disagree with the experts who tested these three cars as well - did you even bother to read the article or is that below you?

I see at least 2 other Foresters in my small suburb, and 2 others on the way to/back from Century City.

During December holidays, I like to Foz-spot on my drive between Cape Town and Kimberley, and I rarely see more than 1 other Foz. No Impreza or WRXs yet.

We have plenty of subarus in my neck of the woods and they are quite a common site here.

My best mate drives a Subaru. Lovely car, I'm definitely going to buy one, one day.

You do understand that we arguing about 3 cars that all did a laptime in 1min26sec?
Subaru has become average.

Fazda, do you guys have the 2015 WRX pricing (non-sti and STI version)? I would be keen to get a quote.

Subaru really should include one of those dual clutch flappy paddle gear boxes, manual is just not fun when you're stuck jhb traffic.

If you count the quickest time as average, then go for it.

We don't have firm pricing at this stage, but it is expected to be in the region of 450 000.
As far as the dual clutch route, Subaru has shied away from them - the new 8 speed box ( Lineartronic) with paddles in the XT is sublime. I think you might find that option in the WRX - but going on past experience where we offered paddles with the STi - the car just didn't sell in SA - obviously the "average" STi buyer likes manual! ;)

Drop me a PM once you have details on price and spec. I am more interested in the WRX than the STi.

Will do - unless I make a grand announcement!! :p

As far as I can gather, we should be looking at a 1.6 and 2.0 turbo, which will line it up nicely for World Rally Championship again. I also "heard" that the 1.6 is pushing out close to what the current 2.5 is doing, but that is pure hearsay at the moment, so don't quote me! :)

Grand announcement? Early retirement perhaps?

Would suck if it loses that characteristic boxer burble though
