Greetings all, yoroshiku onegaishimasu! :notworthy:

We are a new PC components store situated in Johannesburg with a flair for all things Japanese. Bit of a strange request perhaps, but we're looking to add some monitors to our online store, and want to conduct some research first. We could use some advice from fellow forum members.

Our focus is mostly on gamers and hardware enthusiasts, but we'd like to make sure that our offering is still wide enough to cater for the odd person working from home too. We try to only list items that we have researched and found to be of exceptional value to our customers.

So we would really appreciate it if anyone would be willing to share their suggestions around some of the best monitors they've used or experienced or are just wishing for

Thank you for your precious time, friends! :giggle:

Best I've used is my Dell P2715Q, and I'm sure the U2720Q is great as well, but that doesn't matter.

I wish for the best value monitors that are not available in SA, or just scarce.
I was specifically looking for AOC a while ago.

Look here for some other options:

We need more 144hz, 1440p, IPS options.

Rectron sells AOC. Pinnacle used to buy AOC, branded as Pinnacle monitors, not sure if they still do. will check.

PM me if you need more info, pricing etc.

Thanks guys. Any opinions on TN, VA and IPS? Also would be interested to know whether professional graphic design monitors and ultrawide options are something people are looking for in SA or whether these are still way too out of reach for most?

The majority of people (and gamers) still use 1080p, so having a solid range of that will sell well, although a lot of people are beginning now to migrate to 1440p. After that we don't have a lot of IPS options here in SA.

On the design/dev side 4k along with proper DisplayHDR is beginning to really kick off.

Size: 24'-27'

Refresh Rate: 144 Hz

Resolution: 24'(1080p) 27''(1440p)

more options for the IPS panel at a good price.
