Summer Transfers

Never going to happen.

***a And Messi Top Manchester City's World-Class Wish List

Manchester City are in the headlines once more as it is claimed that they are prepared to smash the world transfer record to sign the world's best players...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Ahem...

At the rate they are going, everytime they approach a player they will be rejected. and eventually become a laughing stock. Im actually hoping the "afore-mentioned statement" happens.

KLAAS-JAN SAYS NO
Remember at school, when a certain fad swept the playground, you simply had to have one too. Pogs, whistles, those deely bopper things - you would whine and whine until your mum bought you one.

Well the fad at the moment seems to be turning down obscene amounts of cash to play for Manchester City. All the cool kids are doing it. First Ronaldinho, then Iker Casillas, no Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who tells The Sun this morn:

"There was enough interest in the summer but these weren't the clubs we had thought about.

"Manchester City didn't meet the criteria we wanted. Manchester United? Maybe that would have been another story!"

Oooh Klaas you cheeky chappy.

Eish poor City. Even with bags of cash they can't attract class players( except Robinho who now must be wondering WTF) :o

Why on earth did they buy City . Surely Liverpool would have been a far better bet. Sure they would have had to pay a lot more for the club but at least they could attract class players. After all it's about success not money supposedly

Easier for them to replace players that are not on big contracts like in liverpool.
If I was to buy a team I would do the same, buy a team in the middle of the table as it would be easier to replace the whole starting 11.

Manchester City are going to be stuck with this problem until they do get some decent players. Purely having Robinho isn't going to be enough. If they were to say get K.a.k.a then more players would want to play for them as they now have Robinho and K.a.k.a but until that happenes, happy dreaming.

I think they going about it all wrong. They wont sign K.a.k.a, Ronaldinho, Messi or any of the superstars that are on Robinho's level.

They should be looking at young players that are breaking into the big time. Offer them great contracts, and they might come.

You only need to add 2 or 3 class players with Liverpool. Man City need at least 8

Problem with that is it's a long term strategy. Also more of a gamble .

Too true... but then again, the truly great youngster wont come ot them either. Super Mario or Bojan certainly wont look to swap their teams for MC

Giovani would have been a good purchase for them but is now being wasted at Spurs.

Offer them crazy contracts and they might come. They are young, so they will do it. The ''older'' players will be the hardest to bring.

@ Alan - Man City dont need 8.

They have some really good players there already. Petrov, who was probably the best crosser of the ball in the EPL last season - he has been injured this year tho.

Sean Wright Phillips
Ireland
Robinho

Those are 4 players that are really really good.

11 - 4 = 7. 7 it is then :p:D

Seriously though only Robinho is up to the standard of the top 4 teams talismen.

The other 3 would struggle to make it as a top 4 team regular. SWP has failed already at Chelsea. Also you've only mentioned wingers. What about the rest of the Man City team. Could any of them make it into a top 4 starting 11. I don't think so

We can all agree that the next transfer window is going to be good thanks to City.None of the big 4 are looking at making big purchases this next transfer window.City's last purchase is the only one that is actually paying off this season, United have paid 30+ million for 2 goals with Berbatov.

SWP only struggled at Chelsea cos he was benched most of the time.

In my opinion:

SWP
Petrov

Will most definately make it in a top 4 team. Petrov especially was superb last season.

Players for me in the City lineup who stand out and can ''survive'' in the top 4.

Robinho
Richards
Petrov
Elano
SWP
Benjani
Ireland
(Joe Hart) is pretty decent in goal and does not need replacing.

Thats 11 - 8 = 3. :D

So buy 1 or 2 superstars, then it will look like an amazing lineup.
