Supercar 'dice' ends in tragedy

Yeah I can imagine.... the thing is that people dont realise, it takes alot more than just outright speed... there are plenty of cars who are modded to keep up with the big boyz.... but in reality, you only achieving one aspect and that may be acceleration... even then, how safe is your car at those hign speeds compared to a Lambo or Ferrari... and the million dollar, can you do it twice..... ? hehehe

dam, I saw the cars yesterday lined up at the robots of the corner of sandton drive and william nicole yesterday around 4, It certingly did look like they were setup for a race.

AHAHAHAHA.... If this string carries on.... we will all be driving cars designed , owned and built by TATA!

Look... holding ownership of these companies are one thing... but in essence the cars are still different. As for the Lambo having an Audi engine.... no way hose....

Please do not put Lambo and Audi under 1 umbrella..... Lambo has a personality!!! All Audi is trying to do is buy a personality.....

LAMBORGHINI FTW !!!!!!!

Dude, hold off on the ellipses! It makes your posts very difficult to read.

At that age you would think these men would know better if you want to race why not do it on a track instead of public roads.

**** happens!!!! thats what i say ... hell you can be doing 110km/h in a 120km/h zone and a taxi can smack you ... **** happens!!! ... :)

on the other issue:
When companies buy out other companies, they def use tech from the manufacturers they have acquired ...

"While similar to the Lamborghini Gallardo in configuration (mid-mounted engine, extruded aluminium space frame), the Audi is a different car, based on the Le Mans concept shown at the Frankfurt show in 2003, which coincidentally also had a V10 engine. It has been phenomenally successful, selling 450 in 2007, its first year on sale in the UK, and 836 last year. This is a new, supplementary version, with the same 5.2-litre V10 engine as the Gallardo (Lamborghini is owned by Audi) but different ignition and fuel mapping"

OT: It seems the supercar with more electrical aids than the other kept it on the road. I'd love to hear another car journalist saying that they dont like stuff like traction control.

2001 Astra worth less than 50k with more than 150000 on the clock.

It has a towbar so I can tow GTIs, 1.9 TDIs and other VW rubish to the nearest garage after they [-]f#cked up in true VW fashion[/-] experienced technical difficulties :p

I'm not a massive VW fan myself.

However, I think it's because uncle, cousin and a few other members of my family are so fanatical about Golfs .... it's just put me off :/ JK8 has also put me off owning one ;)

I was fanatical about VWs, my family had quite a few, and they were nice ones. 2.1i Microbus, Jetta MK3, Passat CLI, Caddy, Golf Mk2... Hell, my grandpa at one stage owned three 1600 beetles.

But I can tell you this much - VWs are unreliable crap. They break down when you least want them to. Pick up a copy of CAR magazine at your nearest cafe and read how many people writes in an complains about their new Golf with this problem, and their new Polo with that problem....

Ever since we moved away from one brand and bought the likes of Mercedes, Toyota, Isuzu, Honda, Opel, even Land Rover, much less trouble.

Plus, some say that thesedays only cocks drives Audi's and VWs.

When are you getting your S3?
