SuperSonic outage since 12pm, anyone else experiencing the same?

After waiting for over a day for someone to get back to me on whatsapp from Supersonic, I was responded to with one line and then the conversation was immediately closed:

"Good day ,the line has been tested and we could not find a fault ,we do not have control over international sites"

Wow. They took no accountability for any of the problems with my line, and proceeded to respond with completely irrelevant and disingenuous information.
While they might not have direct control over international sites, saying that is completely absurd. It's like saying that they don't have control over any particular website besides their own and so they are not responsible that you have a 100 bit/s connection to youtube. It means nothing.

It's gotten to the point that they flat-out lie about their responsibility to provide world wide web access to their customers.
Yep, that is their go-to response

Used to be the case by us, but that has changed the last 5 or so years
I was referring to the poor sods in the rest of Midstream, but yeah - you guys in Midstream proper are lucky to have other options like Openserve. :-)

I am not in Proper, FNO we only have Supersonic, at least being able to change ISP made a HUGE difference

So it looks like I'm being throttled for international traffic. I'm on a 100/100 package and all speedtests on my pc and another laptop running windows max out at around 12.5/12.5. Does anyone know if this is a confirmed thing for Supersonic or Vumatel? When I use a VPN it bypasses this limit.
There was nothing in my contract around this and I can't find anything about it in the Ts and Cs on either website. Furthermore, none of the reps I've spoken to at Supersonic know of any throttling applied for international bandwidth.

12.5 up and down sounds like a tcp scaling issue.

Run the below command as admin in command prompt or terminal and it should fix that for you.

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

Thanks so much! It worked. That's one problem out of the way now.

Bumping this just to gain traction and see if anyone else has been experiencing super high ping since about 11am side? Apex and FFXIV was on around 600 ping but speed tests I've done even to Cape Town has been in the 500s. Wondering if anyone has any info on this or if we just have to wait it out as per usual

Same here. Past couple of days I've noticed this. Radio silence as per usual their side. Never their problem.

My brother in christ Jared. It is us against the world again sadly :(

These "tech support consultants" are a joke. We have spent an hour going back and forth if it is a router issue or if some devices in my house are doing heavy downloads. I literally sent them a screenshot of a network performance test directly hooked up to the ONT box. These people are a joke. No wonder you can never get hold of them. They are too busy playing "restart the router" with people for an hour before they see it is actually an issue on their side.

Router issue is especially a funny story for them to throw around when everyone with them is having 500 ping to literally their own city. I guess all our routers just broke at the same time :) Ping returned to normal at around 1am. Woke up at 10am today and it's back to ****

the "tech support consultants" of today are glorified receptionists and call center agents , unlike back in the day when you had real techies on the other side of the phone.

Do we know for certain that it isn't vumatel in these areas? Is it everyone on supersonic?

Would probably have to visit another thread and ask questions there to find out if there is Vuma correlation. I'm not sure if it's everyone on Supersonic but damn we always seem to be in the same boat everytime :( I also have a friend 5mins away who also gets the same problems everytime
