I had the same issue on Friday. I went to the profile link on Supersport and it showed my smartcard number with a message that there is a problem and that I should contact support. So I went to the DSTV website, went to my profile and it showed no smartcards linked but also no errors. I updated all my info (for some reason DSTV won't allow you a space in your surname, calling it a numeric digit) and after I did that, I received a few emails stating I updated my profile. After that everything worked. Still buffering like mad, but it authenticates ok. I have no idea if updating the profile managed to fix the problem or if it was just coincidence, but it won't hurt to try.

Don't know if this will help anybody but I have found that the streaming quality is much better if I stream via the Supersport iPad App. I airplay it to my TV and the quality is much better that when I stream via my PC.

I use the same 4 Mb/s Afrihost Uncapped ADSL line for both . . .

If they use level3 cdn, you can do a traceroute to secure.footprint.net to see if your ISP is peered with the content delivery servers.
Even better, if you can do a tcp traceroute to that server on port 443!

Busy downloading off IS news server, limiting it to 1.2MBps while I'm watching YouTube at 720p and my mother is watching iPlayer and doing OS updates in the background. Supersport just buffers, weird!

Just to recap, we peer with Mweb and Optinet locally, so peering with Level 3 locally would not improve services at all, and would probably be less than ideal.

Let's hope this put this whole issue to rest. I'll bet the agent who responded to this forum post is in some hot water now though. Hope they don't go too hard on him

dunno, but he gets stuff sorted out super quickly. i think maybe he is some big shot at supersport.
