Suspension over racist e-mail

This email is just sad. The picture is most likely out of context.... the email is sad and people should really think of what they send around.

I'm thinking the same thing. People are way too touchy these days. I get many of these types of emails, many even from non-white colleagues who see the humour in it.

So true. I once posted a picture on this site that I received from a non-white colleage, who saw the humor in it and I received an infraction for it. Very sad.

+10 We played the same. The bigger children just ended up being the "horses" in our race. I mean I wanted too win the race. :D

Not sure. They might have insisted that should be able to. I do know she understands Afrikaans perfectly, just don't speak it (in public?).
 
Funny how this is racist, but singing "shoot the boer" is not? This country needs to wake up....

Erm, whats funny about it being racist? Of course its racist. Since when is the shoot the boer song not racist? I saw a massive public outcry against that song from the Afrikaans community (and many other groups). So much so the government reacted. You wont see that same reaction from that community about this photo will you? Yeah, this country really needs to wake up. You seem to have completely missed everything :confused:

I think you are missing everything, they are going to defend singing the song in courts now. I agree, both can be seen as being racist, but set standards. Do not allow one racist thing to be done, and not others. Put a stop to all of this. How can you go and defend "shoot the boer", but a guy sending a stupid picture email around gets suspended??

The song has being banned because it was racist and there was so much public outcry. Did you miss the massive public reaction to the song and the judicial outcome? It was reported all over the world!!!

That guy who sent that email deserves to be suspended. Just like the shoot the boer song deserved to get banned. There are still racists who will pretend that this photo is not racist, and there are still racists that will pretend the shoot the boer song is not racist. The rest of us know better ;)
 
I apologise. I only opened the photo and did not read the idiotic comment that was written with it.
Yes this guy should get fired.

Tell me ( serious question ) a photo with a black man smoking watching a white man working with the caption “for a change”
Would that also be racist?

The mail I’m talking about is making its rounds at work.
It did not bother me. I know that is how people feel, although i'm sure there are people that would take offence.
I think politicians makes people sensitive and lose their sense of humour.
I feel PK is being much more seriously enforced one way in this country.

Hey. Like I said fire him he guy should have thought about it twice.

I know about that and theres still public outcry about it, but the judicial system > some far left ANC morons ;)

Heck, you even had Steve crying all over the place about it. Of course you will get idiots on both sides that think the photo is okay and the song is okay. I clearly said that in my last post. What matters is how the proper authorities deal with it. Im just clearing up your initial dishonesty where you tried to act the victim and were implying that the rules only apply one way. Seems like both sides apply the rules and the judges decide on them.
