My Thoughts After Playing the Nintendo Switch 2 for Hours - Digital Trends

Nintendo has finally lifted the curtain on the highly anticipated Switch 2, and after going hands-on with it, I’m sold. The upgraded console boasts 4K support, improved storage, and a premium design that feels more like high-end tech than a toy.

The real surprise? Nintendo’s new “mouse-like” Joy-Cons, which offer a level of precision that could change how we play—if developers embrace them.

Performance-wise, it bridges the gap to devices like the Steam Deck, with smoother frame rates and crisper visuals. While questions remain about battery life and Joy-Con drift, the Switch 2 looks like a serious step forward.

You are paying 13k cause Core group takes their pound of flesh.

Though, the price does seem to be all over the place, some EU countries getting screwed more so than others. In Sweden & Norway this thing costs much more than a PS5 lmao
Yup, most electronics are about 34% higher than US pricing because of VAT and duties and they'll round up to their 500 or 1000 as a cushion for exchange rate fluctuations, stuff distributed by core throws and additional R1000(Min) because fsck you. They basically they charge the same as grey importers even though they buy their electronics at wholesaler prices whilst grey importers buy their stuff at retail prices

Against my better judgment I snagged a pre-order. UK prices are still fine but with orange man going mad who knows what will happen, so secured a bundle for £429.

I can still cancel it as they only take payment close to dispatch, so will see how I feel about it around that time.

Might aswell import the Japanese version for 7k. Also cant find any express cards in SA? I dont think we have them…

That seems like a bad time, unless you can speak Japanese, have a Japanese credit card and only like playing games in Japanese I guess

Thats true but I dont think they’ll region lock the games no? Oh but the games take the language of the system. ehh so wont be really useful unless it gets hacked/homebrewed but that will take a few years. guess im better off just buying a switch here or internationally

Pretty sure the games are region locked but could be wrong

Nintendo Switch both games and console are not region locked, I have JP/NA/US & EU physical games that run no problem on my EU device.

JP have 2 types of consoles one that's multi lingual and cost the same as international. & The JP only have Japanese language only and can not be changed, they also cheaper that the others.

Edit: I stand corrected. The switch 2 JP model will be region locked.
