Switch 2 thread

I wonder if history will repeat itself...

That would been nice if it ever came to pass, but with the tariffs (beyond their control) factored in... If tariffs up the price to (goddess forbid) $600, I can still see a drop to initial $450 if tariffs cancelled.

Those game prices though, that's all Nintendo. I believe tariffs does not affect software, but I could be wrong.

If only there was price parity for all the regions, the price of $witch 2 would have been OK. Im even prepared to get a cheaper region-locked console like JPN... I can't wrap my head around how making the JPN console region-locked = cheaper console.

Yup, most electronics are about 34% higher than US pricing because of VAT and duties and they'll round up to their 500 or 1000 as a cushion for exchange rate fluctuations, stuff distributed by core throws and additional R1000(Min) because fsck you. They basically they charge the same as grey importers even though they buy their electronics at wholesaler prices whilst grey importers buy their stuff at retail prices
Custom duties on IT and gaming hardware is exactly 0% so only VAT the rest is Core being incredibly greedy. Why can't anyone else become a Nintendo distributor? Why do they have a monopoly?

This obsession with pre-orders being delayed is just weird when you consider they are still launching on the same day regardless.

Aaah I see you went with Take alot.

Pwnd Games has it for R50 cheaper, sadly if you dont stay in CPT delivery fee need to be added.

Most of International Nintendo sites sold out on Pre Orders. Only RSA and Australia still have numbers. Suspect its cause our pricing = Ebay Scalper pricing.
Only way I could get it while decreasing my CC. Hopefully I do.

Yeah I was scared of not getting it.

US is delayed cause of tariff uncertainty. Other countries have all opened and sold out already. I won't be surprised if Americans end up buying all the stock in EU.

And still be hit with import tax and then complain online.

Yeah that's what I've referring to, they just delayed pre-orders stating they will still launch on the same dates.

So it's really nothing.

I'm going to UK mid June and had thought to pick one up that side, but yeah, you guys are scaring me and now I'm thinking it's going to be difficult to get from a shop.

So, I just had a quick trip to Takealot and it's bye bye to my eBucks balance and the R1,959 to make up the bundle price. Bit of a bargain to be fair and now I can take it with me on the plane :p

Sorry, and blame Trump, everyone else does.

All good fella, I just hadn't thought it through and the likliehood of a Playstation type scramble with everywhere sold out seems to be real. I'd also thought it would be cheaper there but the way the Rand is going I'm not so sure now.
