Switch 2 thread

Not gonna happen.

Also getting mixed reviews. Some people are stating that they can play games without patch. ie: patch is only for backwards compatibility support.

With all the Nintendo wack a mole takedowns we will only know the truth once we have them in hand. Still think its stuffed up that no reviews can see the unit and give us a heads up. So right now, Nintendo can be the biggest scam artists selling Switch 1 units in a new case and we will not know till we get them in hand.

Be gone with your negativity :)

I am not saying they are, just they could be and we won't know.

Highly doubt Nintendo will f up their rep with something like that. Would just like people like Digital Foundry to get one and actively test it to give a heads up before the units drop.

As for the woke reviews they can suck on my left.... I couldn't care less that they don't get access pre launch.

My only concern that no one is talking about is the memory sizes of games/updates.

I know the unit has 256 GB internal, but no clue on how much the OS use or what the general game update sizes gonna be ie: BOTW Switch 2 update size and such. So that 256 can be gone in an instant.

I know I can buy a 256GB SD card from nintendo.co.za, but I'm trying to skip it because I would rather buy a 512 GB or bigger when they become available and the price drops. I fear I might be forced to fork out the R1500 before that.

Current Switch 1 = 512 Gb with 20 Gb free.

For first party titles I don't think it will be an issue as Nintendo are wizards getting file sizes small.

If you are planning on the likes of Cyberpunk, they yeah it could be an problem.

I have the Series S and have had no issues with the hard drive size so for someone like me I think the internal storage will be plenty. But can see how for others it may be a factor to consider.

They're already (allegedly?) working on trimming the fat: Gameranx
I’ve heard the goal is to get it down to 2 GB and 1 core, but no idea when or if that will be accomplished. More resources have been released since the earlier dev environment though, and I expect that to continue.
Sources sounds sketchy to me. Claims from Digital Foundry = 3GB for OS on two cores. RAM usage is being referred to here.

That Russian leaker had ~239GB internal storage free on his virgin $witch U after setup. I dunno with GameKey Cards for most 3rd party games... that ~240GB internal storage is gonna fill up fast. I thought the OS is stored in firmware?

Can anyone attend the launch event at Santon city?
I can't decide if I should get it or not.....have an xbox s and original switch already with very little time to play.
But I think it'll be cool to attend the event it and check it out

I would have...maybe getting to old to stand in line alone like a ****.

Last time I did it was for the release of the Eevee and Pikachu one.

I am definitely too old, however I never had that experience ....

Jeez.

Last in person game launches I remember were Gears of War and Halo 3.

But @bokka1 and I now have a ritual of console launch day collection and getting pissed….then not playing it at all.
