Switch 2 becomes fastest-selling Nintendo system in UK history

Nintendo Switch 2 also outsold the launch of the Switch by more than two to one. The original Nintendo Switch sold over 80,000 units for its UK launch back in the day, though the console was very supply constrained.
The list of best-selling console launches in the UK are as follows (handhelds not included):

1. PlayStation 5
2. PlayStation 4
3. Xbox Series
4. Nintendo Switch 2
Not bad.

Your Math is wrong.

You can google the prices. ROG Ally frequently goes on sale and currently IC has it for R10,999, that's the faster version and the Switch 2 is R12,500 with half the storage.

Nintendo Switch 2 & Happy Wife vs Asus ROG Ally that will age in the cupboard.

A gamer wife is the worst.

If you're looking for a Portable PC, Xbox Showcase said new ROG's out in August and Xbox Ally in December I think.

Those will be even more powerful, but the current one is faster anyhow.

I prefer the code.

Game cards/discs on other consoles feel like a relic. My 6 year old cousin would probably look at me weird if I told her to change the game card to swap from Mario Kart to Odyssey, with digital it's super easy on every console to just hit the home button and choose the next game.

Would like the SD Express cards to get faster (internal storage is still quite a bit faster) and cheaper (512Gb for under R2k please) though.

If you prefer the code you can already purchase games digitally that way.

If you want physical, currently only Cyberpunk, because CDProjekt Red are a based Polish studio (one which also gave us GOG) and not a rip off Japanese one, comes in its entirety on one cartridge. It takes 0 space on your 256GB Switch. Enjoy those $80 quality Nintendo games.

Battery life is worse, but I would gather that most people play the Switch either plugged into the TV, or they play it at home or in a place where they can have access to power.

The ROG however has superior performance, more storage and actually runs a full copy of Windows. You can use it as a PC and you can use it as a console. If you really want, get a power bank for it.

And of course you get cheaper games and a greater variety. And you can emulate a Switch one on it too.

Playing Zelda on 60 fps with 4k OLED TV is quite something...

And Nintendo selling 3.5million units, isn't that some sort of record?

Definitely the fastest selling console ever.

Compared to PS4/5 (remembering that PS5 was supply constrained):

PS4: First 24 hours 1 million SKUs sold.
PS4: First 15 days 2.1 million units sold.
PS5: 3.4 million in first 4 weeks.
PS5: Launch month sold 4.5 million from November 2020 to end of 2020.

$witch U Switch 2 nearly sold a third of the Wii U lifetime sales too in that opening 4 day period (but that is a very low bar).
