Crazy that the screen response time is worse than the Switch 1, fckng hell. Consoles shouldn't go backwards

Finally got my hands on this thing, but only for a few minutes... My goddess! A thing of beauty.
And that JoyCon connect sound with the magnets: music to my ears. The right joycon's control stick kinda feels weird to me, in that it seems to be too low. Nothing a few hours of exposure would fix, I'm sure...
The unit feels a bit too big for me, but after a MKW session and some Animal Crossing (those loading times are boss), I can see myself becoming a more active portable gamer (yes, there is nothing wrong with the LCD panel). But that would be with some 3rd party Joycon Grip for comfort.
The LCD screen... OK I see no problem with it. At all. Rewatched the DF video covering that section, and yeah, seeing it at 11% and 33% speed through their recording camera, you can see the ghosting, etc. But experiencing the screen under normal conditions, this LCD is great (compared to the OG. Dunno about SwOLED). I tried the 'moving left-and-right on the game tiles' in the main screen, and saw no noticable blurring... Unfortunately could not do anything on the "View all games" screen as there's not enough games on the unit to test for scrolling artifacts and the like.
Also no 2D game for me to test. That would've been interesting...
The thing runs pretty silent (cool to the touch too). I held it close to my ear, but could not hear a thing. But that was only for ~10 minutes of gameplay.
I do think that the LCD stuff is a bit overblown... but then I'm an easy to please gamer. My eyes saw nothing out of the ordinary under normal conditions. Thankfully I don't game from behind a camera lens.
I am pretty impressed with what I experienced. Unfortunately due to circumstances I will not be able to gauge docked mode until I maybe get my own device.
I bought the thing for handheld gaming.I do think that the LCD stuff is a bit overblown... but then I'm an easy to please gamer.
I bought the thing for handheld gaming.
As long as I get JRPGs with a backpack and a world to explore I am happy.
That being said, the battery does not allow me to enjoy it that much. Kinda defeats the handheld thing.
Other than that, I am a happy gamer.
Larger screen is lekker.
And when I finally get Pokemon South Efrica, it will still be the same for me as each year/ 2 years.
OK... Managed to get a 2D game on the S2. Transferred my US profile over (hope this does not mess up anything with the profile if I have the funds to maybe purchase the S2 in the future). I do not have the game DF used (Hollow Knight?), but I used Rogue Legacy.
Having knowledge of the "flaws" of the panel really messed up my experience: what did I see?! Is that it!? Let me try this, etc. Everything looks normal to me. Falling down from heights causes the screen to scroll vertically showed no issues (to me). Movement left and right with jumps diagonally looked fine. Maybe I'm using the wrong game, but nothing was an unplayable, blurry, Vaseline smeared (holy) ghostly mess.
I left all the default settings (HDR on, HDR for all software, or whatever those settings are): I am not comfortable messing with settings of other people's devices. I dunno if messing with the settings might make things worse or better?
The only scenario where I could see what I think was ghosting is in the System Settings. The section on the left with all the setting categories: if you scroll up and down with the Up/Down button held in, one can clearly see an after-image of the coloured border bar that highlights a specific section. This effect is also present on the OG (docked or handheld)
But I'm a filthy Fortnite-OG Switch-waiting-for-my-skin-to-load-playing-heathen. Yeah, there's not even dozens of us...
The only time I could see the eye-bleeding defects of the panel is when the games run at 11 and 33% speeds of the DF video. If you're one of those cursed to have such good vision to see this at normal speeds, it's understandable to be highly upset after paying that premium. I would've returned mine if I was in that boat. Maybe Nintendo will have an update with the vaunted "overdrive" toggle for the portable gamers...? The only way that will happen I think is if people get more vocal.
Another day. Another (blog) post done and dusted.

WTH! What do you mean "not true 4K"? According to the official site:

Games are upscaled ie: not rendered ie: not true.![]()

Most of the Switch 2 videos on Youtube is another person telling us how kak it is.I really think the rage farming and clickbaiting that this device have garnered is amazing
