Switch 2 thread

In my other hobby, I also bought firearms I wanted.

If I followed YouTube advice, we would have skipped it and kept the OG Switch for another year or 2.

How it's going: Best damn Switch 1 game console ever. Its like a one-time price to upgrade 99% of your games. Granted, I had way less time on it than the Mrs, but everything I played rocks. It's going so great that I expanded the old game library.

From here on, once Switch 2 games start dropping, it will just add value to something that I see as already worth it.

Glad we pre-ordered and didn't take the wait-and-see route.

My only gripe with the reason I bought it...battery.

Do you want to be able to take your console with you to friends? Yes
Did you want a bigger screen? Yes
Did you want more performance? Yes
Do you want this mobile? Yes
Do you want a mouse? No
Do you want a camera function? No

"Best we can do is, all this with kak battery life with 3.6 roentgen"

Ok 2 hours, not great, not terrible. Can use a battery pack.

3DS was 3 to 4 hours.
 
The efficiency of the S2 on the Samsung 8nm process node is phenomenal (and totally contrary to expectations) as per Digital Foundry review. Now imagine having a smaller (or even 720p) screen to go with that efficiency. I believe there's rumours of Nintendo trying to lower core usage to one core for the OS and reducing the memory footprint... so that might be beneficial in a future update?

What I don't understand is why in docked mode (998Hz) the clock speeds are lower than in portable mode (1.1GHz with a boost of up to 1.7GHz)...? Not too sure about that boost being available in portable. I also hoped that DLSS sorcery will be able to provide better battery life. And the GPU is clocked lower in handheld mode than docked...?!? The raspberry pi offloading stuff to the GPU and implementing Vulkan libraries causes the thing to be really efficient. Maybe that does not apply to S2?

I do think portable users will be surprised with software improvements that affect battery life (in a good way).
 
Ok this is f'ed up

If you own Sonic X Shadow Generations for Switch, there is no upgrade path to get the Switch 2 version you have to buy the whole game + DLC again. Yes you cant transfer the Digital DLC to the Switch 2 version. Even worse the Physical Switch 2 version is a GameKey Card.

Its like SEGA doesn't want my money.

Spotted the switch 2 on ebucks partner store (hirschs). FNB Premier clients can get up to 40% back, PC clients up to 60% back and PW up to 100% back in ebucks.
