Switching from Afrihost to Telkom ADSL

Does anyone know how long the process is when switching ISP? We are with Afrihost but want to take the Telkom 10mbps deal for R799(the highest speed available in our area) We have month to month with Afrihost but we cancelled and was told it will only be cancelled on the 31st of August. Telkom is saying they must come for installation which I don't understand since the line and everything is already there.

Who do you rent the adsl line from, Afrihost or Telkom? If it's from Afrihost you have to transfer it back to Telkom so it goes into the holding pool. If you get the ADSL from Telkom and the data from Afrihost you just cancel the isp/data portion and then sign up with Telkom.
