Switching from Android to Apple - What made you switch?

Those are Xiaomi problems, not Android problems. I don't experience any of that. Install the SwiftKey keyboard btw.
 
Switched from Samsung to iPhone about 5 (almost) years ago. I kept mocking iPhone users with my Samsung saying "better screen, better UI, better battery, better price, Android, blah blah blah"....

Then one day, a colleague asked me if I've ever used an Apple device.. I said no. So I got the 6s (as I was due for an upgrade) so I can says its crap and be honest about because I actually used one and been on both sides of the fence. Lets just say, I've never looked back.

Went from 6s, to X, now have an 12 Pro paired with Apple Watch. I will never go back to Android. Its hard to explain why Apple is better, its just got that X factor. Smoother, reliable, solid, easy to use.... In true Apple form, "IT JUST WORKS"....

p.s still have my 6s and X and they work perfectly (albeit the battery drainage on the 6s). Still get the latest iOS, still fluid, working, etc. No android I ever owned lasted more than 2 years, 3 at a push before they 'expired'.

Pretty similar experience just at an earlier stage. I jumped to iPhone when 5 was launched. I've had high end Samsung S and Note as work phones not too long ago - and they weren't crap - they're just not iPhones.
 
On the other hand... the shortage of stock of any iPhone in SA, plus the great pre-order deal that Samsung is offering is super tempting.
 
A Xiaomi phone my brother in law has is as good as my iPhone 8. It also cost about 1/3 the price
 
I want a decent tablet and a small phone. Android devices don't offer either one of those 2 things so I'm seriously considering a move to Apple. Only ever used android since these operating systems were released

Strange even my Galaxy Note N7000 from 2011 got Android 9. Not even Apple can beat 8 years of updates.

Not from what I can find on Samsung support site, nor anywhere else. Pics or it didn't happen.

Even IF you did upgrade it to 9, its not supported by the manufacturer.

The oldest note to support android 9 (released in 2018) is the note 8 which was released in 2017. And thats a sad state of affairs to be honest if their latest and greatest in 2018 could only support nothing older than the 2017 Note 8.

Who cares? Most phones only come with a 2 year warranty anyway.

I actually do. Maybe I should have added it to my reasons. But I didn't want to run through different roms to find the one that is just right anymore. Also, I don't really want to worry about it anymore, it must just be available or install automatically. 3 years support is still less than what you get with Apple (6s still got iOS14).

Every rom I ever downloaded had a list of what's working and known bugs.

My wife charges her Apple Watch 3 every night, but by the time she wants to work out at 4pm, it's dead.
Even my Galaxy Watch goes 2 - 3 days between charges.

Not gonna lie, the iPhones I used for a couple of months had none of those features. Sure, the last one was an Iphone 6S, but the Galaxy S7 Edge was just so much better in every way except app quality.

And so what If the phone only has 2 years warranty? iPhone still works after 4+ years with absolutely no problem and with the latest iOS and security patches. I’ve never had to use a warranty on any Apple device after 5 years of owning them. I’ve seen countless people in SA with iPhones that are older than 2 years that are in perfect condition and fully supported from a software perspective. Can’t say that for that N7000000 note thingy.

And for the pixels... a whole 3 years **shocked face** **not**. 5 and counting for my 6s

Good for you. I'm proud of you. Will continue to buy my cheap proper dual sim Android phones thanks.
