Switching ISP - looking for feedback

I currently have an Openserve 200/100 with WA and considering switching to CI. After speaking to both support I realised that I am forced to first cancel my fibre link with WA at the end of a month. Then Openserve needs to switch my link to Cool Ideas and then they can activate.

I am seriously concerned about the down time and how quickly can this be done. Just looking for feedback from people who already went through this process and their experience?

I was prepared to purchase a second link for few months in order to avoid the down time but was told that it is not possible to have more than one fibre per house. Openserve is the only provider in my area.

Thanks,

If WA release the line it would be the same day, Openserve is pretty good so I wouldn't worry so much.

With Openserve the line does not go down when switching ISPs as the line remains active while in the holding pool.

I am with a local isp on fiber, month to month, no contract. No open serve installed fiber as well, and cheaper, but I am wondering if I must rather support the local isp. I pay R700 for my current 20 down, 10 up.

Got an email from WA on Friday 1st Oct. at 0:40am saying my line was cancelled, now Saturday and still waiting!
