Hi Guys
I have a 4Meg DSL Fastest Telkom line (R530.56 including 168.28 line rental) and the OpenWeb Gold Uncapped package.
In off peak times the connection fast, but not during business hours when I mostly need it during business to access my office network via VPN. My speed problems seems to related to my sync speed dropping from around 5000kbps to 2500kbps.
Below are both sets of stats:
Peak:
Connection Speed: 2735kbps (Down) 1023 (Up)
Line Attenuation: 37.0 db (Down) 18.5 db (Up)
Noise Margin: 5.0 db (Down) 8.7 db (Up)
Speedtest: 77ms ping, 1.86Mbps down and 0.85Mbps up.
Off Peak:
Connection Speed 5135kbps (Down) 1023 (Up)
Line Attenuation: 37.0 db (Down) 18.0 db (Up)
Noise Margin: 5.1 db (Down) 8.6 db (Up)
Given what I'm paying for and what I'm actually getting, should I consider rather downgrading to a 2Meg Telkom line? Or, can Telkom actaully do something about this if I log a fault?
