Hi All

We recently opened another office in Nelspruit.

Now I want to know if there's any utilities which will let you synchronize the contents of a folder over to the remote site, and let you know whether the synchronization was successful or not.

Reason is that we want to sync patches to the remote site, but need to make sure that the patches they've got is 100% up to date.

Server at headoffice is Windows Server 2003, remote server is ClearOS.

Any ideas and suggestions will be certainly most welcome :)

Dropbox maybe. If I did something like this I would want to be able to control the bandwidth for the connections.

If the files are large (for your environment) you wouldn't want it to pull your lines down and disrupt your day to day operations.

Rsync. I think you get a windows version.

+10 :-)

for windows you can make use of Deltacopy, Its engine is rsync ported to Windows. http://www.aboutmyip.com/AboutMyXApp/DeltaCopy.jsp

It can run as a windows service if i remember correctly, and it also support increments, so it can copy only what changed, not by file but by the bits inside a file. It also generates a log

Pretty cool,

I did that with Google Drive running one access database between SA & USA.
It worked like a charm as while we sleep, they were working (and viceversa).
But both machines were Windows servers. Not sure if will work with ClearOS.
