System cleaners/tune-ups

Thread necro!!!

Does that mean you smell dead peoples socks? Please try and add value to the request for system cleaners, if that's at all possible?

To be polite, WinTools.net does not run on Windows 95. That's why you haven't heard of it?

I love your "avatar"! The only thing you missed was adding pubic hair.

Never do any of that registry defrag/fixers rubbish, you will eventually end up having to format and reload windows.

I agree. Every time I have tried one of those cleaner programs I have been left with a non-booting machine.

Unless you now what you're doing with a registry, I'd steer clear of reg cleaners like CCleaner.

Win10 has some nifty ways to refresh a PC without losing data or programs.

And if you must start again, why not rather invest in a decent disk imaging program like Acronis (Home version bundle, Corporate version): Set up your standard installation and make a disk image. When things go wonky, simply restore the image in minutes. The restore is clean and sectors are contiguous (so fully defragged). I keep a master image of a fresh install with all apps, and whenever important system updates or changes are made, I made a new image. Never reinstall Windows again.
