Takealot "Guaranteed Express" delivery useless!!!

Haven't learned my lesson with using Takealot it seems.

Got a deal on a Defy 18000 BTU inverter AC for R9500 at Takealot. Stock at the local warehouse.
Processed the purchase but did t want delivery the very next day because I wouldn't be at home, so I opted for "Guaranteed Saturday Delivery".
Friday hits and I get a message saying that my order will be delivered on Saturday.
Then at 3pm, I get another text, my order will now be delivered on Monday.

Thinking what the hell, I phone them and they don't know what's happening so they log a query with their team.

Saturday hits and no info. So I phone again, no info. 3 hours pass and I phone again. Lady this time says its a common problem with their Richmond Park location, they can never reach the team there, managers don't answer their calls or emails, but says if nothing happens in an hour, I must call again.

2 hours pass and I phone again. Lady this time says "oh, Richmond Park doesn't actually do Saturday deliveries".
The gods are really kicking me for supporting Takealot.

Driver arrived at 12pm to deliver my parcel. After standing with him in the rain (to help him carry), he then discovers that he actually doesnt have my order.
Ek verstaan nie

Placed an order on Saturday for Tuesday. Cancelled it as I couldn't add another item that I forgot, and would instead need to redo the order with the extra item after a credit.

In a few hours it's Tuesday and I still don't have the credit (imagine how much longer if I requested a refund next!)

LOL today Takelot delivered my neighbour's parcels to me. I assumed they were for me, but then I checked TAL and found that mine are only to ship on Friday. Had to take them next door. LOL

You should've told your neighbour to collect from your house and charge him a R35 collection fee

I bought a Karcher wet and dry vacuum on Saturday from Takealot and paid the extra R75 for Monday delivery. I received a phone call at 6pm to say the delivery will be here in 20 minutes. But it hasn't arrived but it says it's been delivered. at 6:55pm. I haven't ever had this happen before. Nobody is in my building for it to have been delivered.
Could he have just not bothered to deliver it? Any idea what to do?

its now 7:34pm

Rather support Amazon.
Theyve been quite a bit cheaper on many things plus offer next day shipping for R2

Amazon is amazing. Ordered a book as a gift. Was already marked down by 16% then at check out another R50 off for some reason. Plus free next day delivery. Was delivered on SUNDAY. Legends.

I am not signing up for any new bells and whistles from TAL. Why should I jump through hoops and madness when shopping.

I like Amazon because all charges or refunds are automatically included in checkout.

The only gripe with Amazon is that payment is too easy. No checks or authentication.

I placed an order with TAL last week. Nothing unusual in it. Delivery tomorrow if all goes well. (Since placing the order, I discovered one item is almost 5 times as expensive as Temu. Lesson learned.)

I placed an order with Amazon this morning. Delivery was estimated for Wednesday. Tonight I get a series of messages that it will be delivered tomorrow.

Under promise and over deliver.

My order finally arrived at 3pm today on the wrong day.

The only way I could get it fixed was calling Takealot and explaining that the driver said he was going to deliver the vacuum and then marked it as delivered. After trying to call the driver a couple of times today and last night he answered saying he was going to deliver it in 20 minutes and that was at 10am today. So I had to take things further otherwise I don't think I was going to get my vacuum.

Has anyone else experienced something like this before? can you imagine if it were a MacBook and it just didn't arrive but says delivered on the app!
