Last week I purchased a Jamo S 807 HCS 5.0 speaker package for R 10 619.00 from TakeAlot (Imported by Jamo). Today they delivered a Jamo S 808 Subwoofer (which costs R 3 999.00). I did not order the subwoofer, only the 5.0 speaker package. So I received a cheaper, totally different speaker.

I'm just wondering, how does TakeAlot make such a mistake? Aren't there people that check for these types of mistakes? Didn't someone at TakeAlot notice that the box is allot smaller than it should be or that the giant product code on the box (S 808) does not say (S 807) or that the picture of the speaker on the box does not match the picture of the speakers on the website.

Anyway, the item I wanted is now out of stock.

Has anyone else experienced such an incident from TakeAlot recently? Did you actually get your money back? I am stressing allot about this.

Return -> Incorrect Item
Refund when asked

Never experienced. This is very possible with people who ship high volume orders every day, it's quite easy to overlook a model number.

They should collect the item gratis, and you should get refunded.

Thanks for the replies! I feel allot less stressed now :-)

Hopefully, they don't 'counter claim' your assessment of the situation. I had to manage the process with a previously incorrect item delivered as it started out 'we did not deliver the wrong item'...

*A lot.

There is no word in the English dictionary called allot.
Actually there is:

allot

al·lot | \ ə-ˈlät \
allotted; allotting
Definition of allot

transitive verb
1: to assign as a share or portion
allot 10 minutes for the speech
2: to distribute by or as if by lot
allot seats to the press

Agreed, but used in the incorrect term.

As soon as you log a claim and got the reference no, you can take it to your nearest takealot depot and drop off. They will ship back to the supplier to inspect and check what is shipped out. Takealot usually reliable . There is a online tracking to see where you can see the status of your returned item and you can escalate if required. Note if you log a refund, please ask to refund to your credit card and not give you takealot credit

Thanks for the tip! I have submitted a return request and I selected the "replace item" option before noticing the item is out of stock. They'll reply within 72 hours.

Received a damaged item from them. Logged a return request and asked for credit. They claimed they'd send a courier to collect the next Monday.

Today marks 2 weeks and no courier yet.

Has happened to me. Takealot refunded.

They also phone me about a delivery. Wanted to give me a brand new vacuum cleaner. My name and address on the package. Fortunately I am honest most of the time, and they confirmed it was a mistake.

Either way, great company and easy to get a refund. Sucks though when it goes out of stock and you miss out on what would have been a sale.

Once ordered a TV. Drum set was delivered. They are fcking incompetent. And that is why they no longer list a telephone number where they can be contacted. Proudly and typically South African. Just like Rain and probably hundreds of other **** hole companies Covid didnt manage to wipe out.

I tried calling but there's no answer.

I agree with you. It confuses me how they make mistakes with larger items. It's clearly either a lack of human-intervention or a lack of proper technology at their warehouses.

all it takes is some poor sod at the depot to put an incorrect label on a package and you get mix ups like this.

still remember when I ordered Windows 2000, and 2000 Window frames arrived inside a container :p
had a lot of explaining to do to my neighbor who's yard the container truck messed up.
