Takealot is good and by far the best in RSA but don't come post bullshit like "they are the Amazon of South Africa". That's demeaning to South Africans. As soon as Amazon opens its online doors in RSA for real Takealot sinks.

Amazon an exception. Amaazing service (in the US). Several of my last orders have been delivered within hours. Hard to see how anyone can match them.

Interestingly enough I have been shopping on Takealot more in the last few months than ever before. Always get deals and great service/delivery.

Especially Whisky where they sometimes have no idea what stuff REALLY costs...real bargains.

well my Highland Park 12 didn't arrive today as scheduled, at R589 with free delivery it's quite decent from Takealot ... but if they don't deliver ...

(having said that this is the first f-up from them I've experienced in a long while)

Lol yeah no service is still great here. Returned a faulty SD card on a Saturday and within 3 days the new one was ready for collection.

Wouldn't good service be, they check the SD while you wait, give you a replacement and save you making a separate trip ?

Lol yeah no. I ordered a flash from Amazon and after 5 months of not getting it I had to cancel the order and reorder it. Amazon is not the be all and end all.

Indeed! My old Kindle died and when I tried to reload a whole pile of purchases going back 7 years; guess what? No trace could be found after hours of searching by Amazon support. They are good, but head office isn't i Heave yet!

Takealot's delivery rivals Amazons minus the speed for some, and their delivery is free over R450 which you can bypass by keeping some vouchers on standby like I do...

Then there's the no questions asked full refund collection based policy which I don't think anyone can match, right?

Try returning a TV... Lots of questions asked. Lots of "consumer caused damage" responses. I got my refund in the end tho... But it was a hassle.

Haven't tried a TV but I have a fridge, 32" monitor and a Macbook... maybe they have a sliding scale on customer "trust" based on $in/$out

By Wednesday morning it was already at my office waiting for me.

they have zilch quality control. The sell a lot of junk. I average 3 out of 5 returned not to be replaced
