Tested as well and first time in a long time where a code works on existing accounts as well
According to the discovery website it is only applicable to books but I chose a random non-book R84 item on the website and it also gave 20% off. Till 20 May 2018.

Keep in mind that existing accounts won't qualify for free delivery below R450, so you still may want to create a new account if your order is below R450.

edit: this coupon is only worth it for orders R1 - R400 or orders above R750 as 20% on R750 equals to R150, R1-R400 APP150 can't be used and for R401 - R649 DISCOVERYMOM20 is less discount than APP150

App150 doesn't seem to work on new accounts it just says PLEASE NOTE: There was an error completing your order. Tried on multiple new accounts with different devices including the app and website, been receiving the same error message.
 
Discoverymom20 doesn't seem to work on non book items, I tried it a few times without any luck! You can add the coupon code during checkout and it does minus 20% off the order but when you comfirming the actual order (completing the order) you receive an error message stating

There was an error completing your order.

20% isnt much though

depends on what you want though

Weird. I just checked to see if it works on a ps4 and it shows R1000 off
 
Couldn't complete my order on the app twice, it went well until the payment screen. An empty order was placed (no items and R0 value) and an error popped up. Had to use the website. Takealot spy please log a bug ticket.
 
I tried DISCOVERYMOM20 again and finally it worked on the website however when I tried it again now for another item it states "Promo code DISCOVERYMOM20 is only valid for specific items"
Anyone else getting this message?

Yip think they closed the loophole for non mother's day promotion book items
 
Damn n there I was about to buy a r11000 tv for r8800. Silly tv license held me up from completing the order!!! Just my bad luck!

If you Google image search "SABC license" you'll get TV license numbers. :twisted:

No I haven't tried to use them.
