Just as copied.

Me: Hi. I am sending you this email as a review of this purchase and product. My first email was not responded to as well as there is no option to let me review this item.
I would like to say that this case is very bad. I did not want to make a bad name on the
Product review section but rather privately to keep all good.
The case does not stay flush or stick to the macbook and is rather
Quite loose. This has allowed much dust to enter and cause fine scratches on the
Top and bottom of my MacBook which was not there before i had put this cover on.
I used to use a JC PAL case before this was perfect stayed flush and tight and did not scratch my macbook once. Please advise
Thank you.

Them: Thank you for your discretion.
I am sorry that you are unhappy with the case. Unfortunately as per policy, once a case has been opened we cannot return the item.
By your description it sounds like the case may not be clipped on properly. The case should snap on firmly and shouldn't be loose at all. I would recommend making sure the case is properly fitted as some of the clips require a firm hand. You may also want to check if the case is compatible with your Macbook model as it will not fit the late 2016- 2017 models. All compatible models can be found on the product's page on our website.

Thank you and have a great day!

Me:Hi. I have checked all clips that it is secured also i fitted it on the correct size and confirmed by a iStore techician that it is the correct model for the case. My device is the Late 2013 15” MacBook Pro Retina. Can a refund not be made excluding shipping please even R100 off the price would seem fair?

Them: Hi,

Unfortunately we cannot replace or refund opened cases.

Thank you and have a great day!

Kind regards,

Any thoughts on this?

I have no idea what the actual product is based on that mess of words. Or the supplier for that matter.

But I have to ask why on earth you would put a case on a Macbook?

Yeah they're taking chances. If it's 6 months or younger, request that they collect it (at their cost, says the CPA) and refund you.

Well its a really expensive item just like any smartphone it would be great to keep the laptop scratch and dent free as i gets scratched easily.

Hoping so!

And this was a shipped product with no way for you to test before receiving it, correct? As far as I understand - you have 14 days to return the product (if a shipped product) for a refund under the CPA if the product does not do as expected or is advertised to do. This is a mandatory requirement for retailers under the CPA so they don't really have a choice as long as it is within the first 14 days of purchase

I have never scratched a Macbook and I've had four different ones.

Buy a sleeve for transport. There is no reason it should get scratched during general usage.

Perhaps OP can post pictures so that we can better understand where this is happening?

I love how it is now scratched because of some third party piece of crap that was intended to stop it being scratched in the first place.

Oh the irony.

My exact thoughts. I used to use a previous brand before called JCPAL they make great covers kept my previous MacBook at brand new condition for 3 years! While the tangled one destroyed mine in a Few DAYS. But thought I'd try tangled since they're local. Guess it was a mistake.

You'll find even without the JCPAL cover it would have been perfect after three years.

Without looking tacky at the same time.

Why did you change covers?

So heres the great reply after asking Surely this is covered by CPA:

Good Day,

Unfortunately not as it does state on the website and cover wrapping itself that we cannot replace the cover once opened.

Thank you and have a great day!

Point them to this thread, and the continuing unfavorable exposure that they are garnering here.

Obviously they don't understand how the Consumer Protection Act works. Sorry, but I actually laughed at this.

Here you go - follow the process:

I had a similar incident with a premium smartphone case, in 2016, the case was purchased at a local outlet, dust entered where the case met the screen.

The manufacturer gladly replaced the item, upon producing proof of purchase & pictures, they sent a new one at their cost all the way from the US.

The problem is these items are unbranded. I think they import them from China. It is generic and unbranded with a small "Tangled" sticker on their MacBook cases.
