Tanking and Healing

Well, for priest and warrior, T4 isnt very good. Cant really comment on the other classes. The odd thing about the warrior T4 leggings and shoulder is that your hp will drop but you gain more strength and agility when replace the Kara drops. As for priest, with T4 my mana regen went down substantially and +healing only slightly up, which I thought was louzy. The warrior 2 set bonus is very good though. I noticed a big improvement in dmg mitigation. The priest set bonus is horrible. It buffs the group heal, which just gets you killed in places like SSC and The Eye.

I think for some classes the crafted gear is better. My priest has his T4 leggings and shoulders in the bank. Use the mooncloth set. Zul'Aman has better gear. Then again, I think ZA is probably more on par with SSC in terms of difficulty.

If you've killed Archimonde, pretty much every1 else on the server who does raiding, looks up to you...

I'm not even going to start on how arena gear has screwed up the raiding status symbols (what will season 4 models look like? recoloured t3 imo - because we all know blizzard are fat and lazy)

lol @ blaiz :p

I noticed our dps arms warrior raiding with arena gear and the lionheart 2h. He does well on dps. Usually overaggroes and dies before boss gets to 30%hp. lol. must be good dps gear then. haha. One time in SSC, he died 4 times in clearing the trash to Morogrim Tidewalker. When he complained about the not getting heals, healers asked him to equip some plate, so that their quick heals could land before he died :) I suggested he find the escape button.

Must be honest, I dont take much notice how gear looks.

I wasn't refering to stats...

the fact is, u can look like sum1 in t6 while never having done a raiding instance

pre-tbc the guys in t1/t2 epix were unique and rare, who ever checked them out knew that they had done raggy/neffie/KZ, in tbc, every1 and their mother has shiny epix

Your obsession with epics are not good.
Not even in the pre expansion days were epics that hard to get... Any level 60 could get in a 40 man group and gear in full T1 within weeks. We ran countless people through MC and BWL to get them up to gear for AQ40 and Nax. Epics from Aq20 and ZG were just as easy to get...

T4 epic gear is just the entry level gear, remember the T0.5 gear? You need to run a few 10 man raids and an easy 25 man raid...
T5 is where players get separated from the rest, and T6 fewer than 5% of the total population have this. Sounds familiar to the 5% T2.5 / T3 people?

Epics have always had a short live period, and were not a status symbol. Legendary weapons on the other hand...

40 man instances were so easy that you could do most encounters with 10 people afk... a lot of 25 man content you cant even afford one death within the first 25% of boss health...

Majority(i would say all, but that would be assuming too much :) ) of lvl 70's know the difference between T6 and BoE epics or the stuff aquired from badges etc. In Shattrath on our realm everyone knows which guilds run Black Temple and MT Hijal. Even in Ironforge, I would say. I havent had a single "ZOMG epix" when someone inspected my Kings Defender with mongoose :) They all know how relatively easy it is to get. And I wouldnt say im posing. But I guess I could unequip all my gear whenever I go to the AH, so as not to be seen to be posing, but then again, I'm posing in the nick. lol

:o your sayin Pug MC with 39 other ppl?

Been there... done that... wiped, its not as easy as it sounds, now it can be done with 9 players easy

Getting t1 within weeks... yeah ninja looting maybe, i ran MC for roughly 8weeks only got 2 pieces (maybe that was cos the dkp rate was unique to our guild)

How hard was it to get a thunderfury, 1-3% drops off 2 raid bosses, then go kill another 40 man boss (who pre-tbc was rather difficult)

How rare are illidans blades... in comparison

MC were pugged for over 2 years on my server! Only the first 5 months of its existance did we run it as a guild. Then moved to BWL when it was released... We had lots of new players just hitting 60 that wanted to join so on off days we ran some MC, and equiped those people in under a month to be able to join for BWL.
Clearing MC in 4 hours were never really an issue, and Onyxia in 30 mins. Just hit these two instances once a week were the easiest way ever to get epics...

BTW we are talking about epics not RARE epic drops! I have killed prince in Kara 32 times now with my hunter and still dont have his bow! It is bad luck yea, but rare drops is still... well... rare.

Yea I agree with you optioncard...
In the past to build up Tiered sets was a lot harder... if something dropped, you competed against so much more people. I had to run a total of 43 BWL runs to get my tier 2 shoulders from Chromagus. Yup I counted it.

As for pugging and running people through 40 man instances...
It wouldn't be possible in BWL + AQ40 + Naxx since I have seen what happens if you take new people to bosses like Razorgore, Chromagus. For starters most pug guys you would take, wouldn't even have the onyxia scale cloak, and its sort of a requirement in there in BWL.

MC it would be possible assuming you don't take too many new ppl at once.
Also you needed resistance gear sets for most tiered dungeon runs, which as we know it, pug people usually never had.

Nice to hear some servers could pug MC, ours couldnt

An epic is still... well... epic

I gave up on the Sunfury tbh...ive never seen a "Beast Lords Shoulders" (blue) drop in the 89639782649 times ive done SV, on my 2 70's.
I havent seen Solarians mail boots drop once in the 3months we've done TK

The rare comment was regarding a comparison between Thunderfury to Illidans blades

Onyxia scale cloaks is only needed at Nefarion, tbh. Unless you are tanking, ALL the other dragons you could use LOS to avoid it. Actualy even at Nef you can stand behind his throne and survive... So point invalid.
We still have 12 cloaks in the guild bank anyway.

There is a difference in just taking a PUG or taking a PUG based on friends of friends. Our pugs were organised on our Server forum, and we had 2-5 MC runs going per evening. BWL were a lot harder though, so we never made a PUG there, but we still did take 3-4 new people (MC geared or with high resistance) per raid with us.

The last year before the expancion release most of the people in our guild were in T3 already, and we were just waiting for the next instance.

To be really frank, if there were no expansion a lot of people would have left by now or a lot more would be running around in T3 gear.

Hehe, i remember how happy 1 of our tailors was when the Cindercloth cloak pattern or w/e dropped :p
