Imo Balance druids are only useful for HKM (High King Maulgar)...
Feral/Resto > balance... Resto druids are brilliant in 25man
For me ... TBC sort of killed a lot of things in WoW which I really loved pre TBC. I have been raiding very actively since I started WoW a few years back, we were 5 bosses deep in Naxx on farming status, Full AQ40 clear with Cthun included, BWL full clear when we were bored, MC with alts etc.
Things which I miss from the old WoW days :
1 - Epic's were special back then...
2 - 40 man raids... hell yea those old MC / BWL / AQ 40 / Naxx raids were awesome.
3 - Tiered sets required a LOT more effort to build up. Most tiered sets required 8 pieces to complete a set. And you needed ALL the pieces for the full set bonus. If you saw a character in Orgri with Full tier 2/3 you know that person worked hard to get it...
4 - Less grinding required than TBC is current expecting. The mindless grind in TBC kills it for me. Its bad enough that you need to grind instances over and over to get enough rep to get a key to just grind some more. But then as a Hunter, I have to grind for herbs for pots, food for dps buffs, pet food, rep for enchants that you need... eg. head piece enchants, shoulder enchants etc. There was grinding in pre-TBC, but nowhere nearly as bad as now. Because there is more stuff you can buy and gimp on your gear, you need more gold, to get more gold you need to do more dailies, doing more dailies means repetitive quests over and over. The epic flying mount is another prime example.... 5k gold. Ouch... takes a LOT of grinding to get that moolah together.
But I think it does have its place in MMORPG's, as thats what gives you the sense of accomplishment.
Oh well... its going to be interesting to see what they will be changing WotLk.
Thats shocking tbh... kick all your mages/locks/hunters/rogues...cos they slacking
as stated above druid = hybrid, jack of all trades, master of none... if a hybrid can outdps a pure dps class, theres sumthing wrong
PS And no hunters are not a hybrid class

@ Pitbull... comparing how hard it was to get tier 3 pre TBC vs tier 6. Yes, NO doubt about it. Naxx was one of the hardest instances ever in WoW.
Once you get into BT / MH, you can get your full tier 6 up and running in a month or two. Got my Tier 6 helm last night, and gloves I should be getting this week Thursday or Sunday, and we have Mother Sharaz on around 40 % which means another tiered token. So yes... Tier gear is a LOT easier to get now![]()
