I would fall into that last category zippy. I much prefer just relaxing and playing on weekends now. Much less stress, and much more sleep.

9million( or is now 10million ?) subscribers think the TBC is good enough to pay money for
5K gold isnt hard to get. I earn about 600 gold per week, sometimes more, doing daily's selling herbs, flasks/elixirs and primals and I have day job. If I stopped raiding for a week or so, I could easily accumulate 5k gold with my 3 lvl 70's. IN fact, I looked at my cashflow one week and I earned 2,5k in a week. Spent 3k power leveling a profession. lol. I dont have the epic flying mount, because I spend the gold on other things. Anyway, its a nice to have. Doesnt exactly enhance my tanking in anyway.
Actually, good gear is a lot easier to get in TBC. Prior to TBC it was almost impossible for casual players to go do end game, because of the 40man requirement. Now we have a chance, and we are doing it. My guild consists of people who get home from work at 7pm. many have kids etc., Yet they are able to raid 3 or 4 nights a week. Gruul's Lair is a 30 minute run. We are currently learning SSC and spend 2 or 3 nights there from 20:30 to 23:00. We have downed Lurker and Tidewalker. We arnt blitzing our way through the content, but we are enjoying it. This wasnt possible prior to TBC. You had to be in a massive guilds and the crap that entailed.
The old days if you ran to the bank in orgri and you saw a character with full tier 3... the first thing you do is the run up closer and inspect this guys gear and think, hell this guy is hardcore. Thats all killed now.
Even the old high warlord gear had their own graphic sets... also killed now.
1. Agree
2. Sounds like Lag central
3. So you saying getting T6 is easy
4. Strongly agree, Grinding FTL !
Tier 6 is easy, if you can get 25 people in a raid that can all read "cave in" and move out of the way.
T6 ? cave-in ?? isnt that that the ugly sod, Gruul. he drops T4. Apologies if it is indeed BT or Mt Hijal, I aint been there yet. Still wiping in the SSC sewers![]()
Actually there still is some hardcore instances and some players still get to "pose" ligitimatly

The only difference now is that the people inspecting this bloke have some idea what an end-game raid is like cause they have wiped for 3 weeks in SSC
Prior TBC it was people with Stratholm blues inspecting the epix![]()
retards ?? You never had T4, T5 gear ???? The game moved on from T2 and T3Maybe some of those "retards" with their T4 and T5 did clear BWL and Naxx. I know quite a few who did and currently have T4 and T5. In fact some of them joined a casual guild because they had enough of those MC/BWL/Naxx days and wanted to actually have a laugh.
2 - 40 man raids... hell yea those old MC / BWL / AQ 40 / Naxx raids were awesome.
3 - Tiered sets required a LOT more effort to build up. Most tiered sets required 8 pieces to complete a set. And you needed ALL the pieces for the full set bonus. If you saw a character in Orgri with Full tier 2/3 you know that person worked hard to get it...
lol, this reminds me of early EQ days.... 'woah a lvl 20!' Grinding and hitting lvl 50! So uber, then the xpacs came out (a gazillion of them now ...) and the grind just continued, gear just got better and old gear discarded.
The point is that the game progresses, there are still however many subscribers who play.
Sure there are a ton of players with T-whatever gear and unfortunately it will become obsolete with the next xpac. That's progression just like the new TT, the older models are cheaper now and more affordable to many.
Personally I reckon that they should reward long standing players who have raided / grinded / BG'd / whatever in other ways. Maybe being able to customize the colour of your T6 according to time actively raided or played...
Or maybe a awesome set of gear that you can upgrade with special items dropped in tough raids ... For example, You got a sword of uber l33tness and you down a boss and he drops an eterium blade. With a bs skill of 400 (for example) you can fuse that blade onto your existing blade and you now have an eterium sword of uber l33tness!
That would help players stand out similar to the times when BG's ranks stood out above someones head (Don't think I make it past grunt!)
Finally I think it's all about satisfying the majority and not the minority (sounds familiar doesn't it?) in order to keep the cash flowing.
I like the fused idea, sort of like the 2 swords in ZF you fuse for an Epic 2h.
I personaly think such a system could work nice. And I think they must bring the ranking system back. However this time one for PvE and one For PvP. It is clear that wow has now moved to a point where you get the PvP players and you get the PvE players.... No one realy plays both anymore. Only time they do is if they need something like IMBA weapons for PvE
just my 2c

I have alot of problems tanking caster mobs with druid.
Ill never say a pala can out tank a druid on anything maybe prot waroir but hey are so rare.
Well i have heard of people doing ALL end game content wit bear tank with no real prob.
Our tanking has been nerfed alot cause of waroir whines but we still do fine.
i was commenting on the fact that people who have never played the original WOW now can run around in T4 or 5 and call themselve elite when.... simply , they not at all!... For me the game died when TBC was released and now i just usually play a session or 2 and check the new content!
We obviously have different experiences. I dont see people with T4 and T5 calling themselves elite. Thats because they would make themselves look silly around the guilds clearing BT and Mt Hijal. Dont even see those guilds calling themselves elite, come to think of it.
Bemoaning the fact that more players can now experience the thrill and excitement of killing a boss in a raid after struggling isnt very positive.
In my view Burning Crusade was a good thing because it gave casual players the opportunity to raid. My guild, for one, have a great time in the lvl 70 25mans, even while wiping endlessly. We have had our share of people quit the game because they have had enough. Fair enough. Still not a reason to refer to people enjoying themselves as retards![]()
fair enough, i can understand where u coming from, 25 man raids were made to accomidate the whinners !! cos it was clear as daylight that some guilds where to small to form 40 man raids, in the pre-TBC there was a huge margin between been a elite and been casual, now at this current point in time with TBC the margin is gone, As you said in your own words, it gives the casual guild the opportunity to raid and feel the thrill, every " casual player" and or even a semi- hardcore player now has there Tier 4 set, which imo is just plain stupid, Tier sets are for the elite and the players that put in the time and elbow grease, not for a bunch of casual players!
Wow, that's just...wow. Here's the thing: Blizzard wants to make money. Scary, I know. And that means getting more people to play, and keep playing. Raiding is an absolutely minor aspect of the game in terms of overall players. It takes a disproportionate amount of time to develop, so understandably they reduced the group size and have been gradually lowering the entry barriers to let more people experience it and justify the initial outlay. It makes perfect business sense, and I doubt that a few people hankering for the days when they could prance around IF in 4 pieces of Tier 1 to make people jealous will change that. You can still be elite: prove your awesomeness and get a few world firsts.
As for the difference between the "elite" and "non-elite" in pre-BC, that was more due to the fact that a) grinding for High Warlord took about 6 months of your life, and b) apart from that, the only source of decent epics was raiding. Tier 4 is not, I hate to break it to you, a mark of the "elite". Everyone and their cat has done Kara. Tier 5 is getting better, and Tier 6 is where the eliteness really sets in. That means you've beaten Vashj and Kael. That's an achievement that can be respected. But, as I said, it will only be respected by a certain subset of the player population. Millions of players have zero interest in raiding beyond the odd Kara. They couldn't care less if you've killed Archimonde.
