Taxi driver pulls a panga - enough is enough

Long story short, taxi drives down the wrong side of the road in Centurion, almost causes an accident by cutting in front of a lady. She hoots at him. He pulls in front of her, get out of his taxi with a panga and starts threatening her with it.

Not in Soweto. Centurion.

In peak traffic all the other arsewipes scatter and leave this poor woman to her fate. I stopped and told the dude to calm down and leave the lady alone. The clown ended up threatening me. Luckily I remained calm and he decided to take off.

This was the last straw though. I've decided to join the reservists so I can help to curtail this behavior before someone gets seriously hurt. Anyone in Pta/Centurion a reservist? Please drop me a pm. I've already found where to sign up etc, but would like to speak to someone that's already walked the line.

TIA. It's sad to think where this country is going to end up if these hoodlums are allowed to make the streets their own. We need to fight back somehow, but I don't know how I would defend myself from a panga. Good on you for standing up to this thug.
 
Just happened in PE (Kempston Road, opposite Mercantile Hospital)....

Taxi rode into a car and another taxi and tried to drive off. Driver of car caught up with him. Taxi driver threatened him, but picked on the wrong person. Luckily for him the hospital is across the road.

Good on that man...

Taxi drivers need to be shown that the rules apply to them as well. I'm sick and tired of these idiots, they (and the behaviour they've shown everyone else is acceptable) are the cause of a portion of accidents and traffic jams and such.
 
Well done on actually going to the reservists,

Somebody needs to knock some sense into these bullies of the roads,

If i was president, I'd haul every taxi off the road, there a menace,
 
Fking savages need to be brought back to earth. Problem is that SAPS and other enforcement agencies are shyt scared of the taxi's and their associations.
Fines don't help and the only "punishment" would be impounding their vehicles.
 
The same here - I do not give up my driving space to them any more - only thing I need to get is a bull bar for the from of my car - only concern is the passengers in the taxi - I am driving around with some pepper spray....

That's the problem he doesn't give a shyte about the passenger's but you do and the law will be on his side if you for example are aggressive in your vehicle towards him with passengers on board.

Yeah. Good luck with that. Been trying for the past 2-3 years. There is a moratorium on getting new reservists, was supposed to change sometime in this year, but haven't seen anything that it has.

If you do come right, please let me know as well.

That is exactly what everybody on all the other forums and platforms moans about.
They dont take any new candidates in and it does not seem that is would change quickly either.

I think it is more in line with the few that sees this as an opportunity to become a res and then try to wiggle themselves in as permanent employees of the SAPS.

So once again our lovely country a few screws it up for the rest that really try to make a difference.

I keep telling my SO i need a bull bar. Too many ppl cross the road without looking and when you screech and hoot they make hand signals back at you like you driving on the pavement or something.
 
Motorists pull guns on each other every day on the road - and even shoot and kill each other... I'm more worried about that...
