Taxi with 30 passengers overturns

A Verulam taxi operator has defied all popular belief and squeezed thirty adult men and women into a Toyota Hi-Ace on Thursday evening. This all before he rolled the vehicle on Verulam Main Road this evening.

The taxi rolled several times before coming to rest on its side in the middle of the road. The cause of the accident is unknown.

The rolling vehicle spilled its occupants onto the roadway, with some being thrown down an embankment that lies adjacent to the road.

All sustained serious injuries and Netcare911 Paramedics summoned ambulances from adjacent districts to aid at the accident.

They were treated and stabilised at the scene by Paramedics before they were transported to hospitals and clinics in the area for the care they required.

I guess the old joke about the Hi-Ace holds true in this case unfortunately. HI-ACE - Hi Impact African Culling Equipment.
 
Wow that is pretty impressive. I wonder what the record is for most amount of people squeezed into a minibus.

I find this part very funny.....I mean REALLY...? A simple turn left/right at almost any speed would probably cause an accident FFS!
 
I used to regard Taxi Drivers as morons. The actual morons are the commuters. WTF was commuter no 25-30 thinking when getting into the taxi? Clearly incapable of logical thought.

That should actually be commuter no. 19 and onwards as the legal load limit is for specifically the Hi-Ace is 18.

43 kids in a Siyaya...

38 kids in a Quantum. Driver was speeding and it overturned. Our kitchen's assistant's daughter was one of the kids that died on the scene (PE, Stanford Road, Van Der Kemp bridge)
 
most i've seen get out a minibus. Stopped at a roadblock...

I think one reason for packing the "taxi" like a sardine can is that poeple don't want to be late for work...and take the chance, so they don't get krapped on by their employer who most likely doesn't take public transport, but seriously 30 climbing in is just plain doff! And for starters do they sit on each others brains?

We gave our domestic a Nokia we don't use anymore and showed her how to buy airtime and gave her our numbers so she calls whenever she is running late, simple but effective.

We take an office lift car to work and 1 women that use's taxi's is constantly late, we accept it - only annoys us when she doesn't pitch for work at all, no phone call nothing, and then we are late....good excuse anyway :)
