I hope the dept of Education deals with the student adequately - it should be swift and harsh - assaulting a teacher with no line of defence should be a non crossable line - and if you cross it the punishment should be severe - regardless of whatever caused this to happen.

this must be the result of being kicked around as a toddler, you have to assume it happens to others but just not recorded. child welfare should investigate the parents.
