Telecoms shake-up

It is not clear yet whether Vodacom will be free to expand once it is majority-owned by Vodafone, which is already active in Egypt, Ghana and Kenya. It may prefer to continue alone, because if Vodacom takes the lead, 35% of its profits will have to be handed over to its minority shareholders.

Not good.
Ive been thinking about this alot, is the buyout good for Vodacom or not? I know its good to get rid of Telkom, but more shareholders with the final say in a market unlike any of their others just leaves me with alot of "Ifs."

Also what does this mean for Pieter and to some degree Alan Knot Craig? He still has some say apparently.

Will Vodacom change their very well established name?

Will Vodafones policies have ruling authority on the company and its business models and processes?

Will government and the locals favour a Non SA company in terms of BEE deals?

And Autopage wants their own network. Another shake up?
