Let me rephrase the question: If I subscribe to the GO offering, can I then buy throughput from another ISP for use on my line?
Answer seems to be: No. Telkom will not be allowing GO users to authenticate with different credentials on the "GO" line.

I've split traffic successfully for international and local through the TelkomInternet and OpenWeb local only account. I was also able to use my WA prepaid account after converting to doBroadband.

cool, that is what I was wondering, as I currently have my IS setup for local, and international routes though my telkom account.

also, anyone know if the Do Broadband ISP accounts still allow concurrent connections?

Let me fix all your confusion:

This also implies that I cannot get more bandwidth once my 1 or 2 or 3 GB is consumed.

You only pay the R437.50 if you are retarded!!! and thus not being able to do the self install! If you can't do the self install you should not own a PC! It's as easy as logging into the router and put you ISP settings in, after doing the line verification of course, and you are hooked up with ADSL.

If you don't have a telephone line connected to the exchange it will cost you R300 ex. VAT to connect the line up, then you apply for a ADSL SIO (Self Install Option) and get the ADSL free. If you really want to outsmart Telkom...then first apply for a prepaid line @ R197.60, convert the line to a normal line at no charge (because you can't get ADSL on prepaid) and then apply for ADSL SIO! So be smart, but don't tell them of your intentions, as they might stop the free conversions!

Also take into consideration that you get your ADSL modem free with a SIO, saving you R899 on the Mega 100 WR modem. The best modem that Telkom brought out so far. The SIO options also takes less than a week in most cases, and this is a real bonus, at first it took 6-8 weeks for a tech to do the installation and you paid the deathly R437.50! But now Telkom pulled up their socks by giving the SIO with free modem to customers!
