Hi

Can anyone help me understand the info below. I upgraded to a telkom's Smarthome Premium 10Meg line, which i am 4Kms away from. I am in the Reeds.
Downstream Upstream
Line Coding(Trellis): On On
SNR Margin (dB): 119 165
Attenuation (dB): 460 276
Output Power (dBm): 169 1
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 8332 1127
Rate (Kbps): 5120 511
D (interleaver depth): 1 1
Delay (msec): 0.25 0.24

HEC Errors: 0 11
OCD Errors: 0 0
LCD Errors: 0 0

Total ES: 3 0

Type: ATM (may be an issue i think it needs to be metro ethernet for 10Mbps and up ( i could be wrong)
SNR Margin (dB): Down 11.9 UP 16.5 Downstream to low to sync at 10Mbps if its this on 5Mbps
Attenuation (dB): Down 46.0 UP 27.6 Too far from the exchange to sync at 10Mbps Down needs to be atleast 15-20db
Rate (Kbps): 5120 511 Current sync at 5Mbps maybe you can sync at 6 but thats really pushing it.

If i were you id stay on a 4Mbps it will be most stable

Thanks for the response Adam. I am kind of stuck here. I have been told the same by many, except this is a 2 year contract and I am struggling to get out of it
