I recently moved into a new place in Northcliff, and having assessed the costs of some of the other providers (Neotel, Telkom Mobile Data, etc) it just seemed more value for money going with Telkom. As such I began the process of activating a new ADSL line to the house. The previous tenant being MIA I couldn't get the current line number, and Telkom insisted on a new install.
Yesterday I received a phone call to let me know the local exchange is being upgraded, and I wouldn't be able to have an ADSL connection until August 31st 2015... I was offered with 0 other options. No ADSL, or you can wait.
Surely there is something I can action here with Telkom, as the lady who informed me of the situation didn't seem to know have much technical knowledge, so I presume she usually just receives lists of calls to make.
I know there is a tonne of knowledgebase here, so I would appreciate any tips/suggestions and even other providers if possible.
