Hi all,

anyone has had previous issues with telkom cables. Over the past few weeks, I have been having issues with my adsl. Logged a call with telkom. On saturday a technician came out to my place and advised my home connections are fine and it could be a damaged or stolen cable. The internet comes on and disconnects every few minutes. I have no fibre in my area.
Do yo guys think that Telkom will fix the problem?
what would be my other options, average house consumption is around 600 gigs a month. I am currently on a 10mb uncapped with telkom.

i think they previously had a 3 stike policy to replacing cables due to theft. after that they say they wont replace and you are screwed. this could be less now. i've been there. cable theft twice and they didn't want to replace. had to get WISP service. then called in a year later and they installed my line again.

but you basically have to take their word for it. i wanted naked adsl recently. Openserve then closed the ticket with the feedback of 'cable theft'. but i have normal adsl which is working fine. so didn't really understand their feedback? i opted not to bother arguing and now on 5g with vumareach fibre currently being rolled out.

add into that they are hesitant to put money into last mile copper and adsl closing down (in areas with fibre).

good luck!
