Telkom ADSL install wait time

I applied for my ADSL last week Wednesday. When speaking to the call center person she said their systems are a bit slow and she will SMS me the reference number. By Friday afternoon I have not received the ref number, so I phoned them again. This was their exact response to me "Oh, I am actually a bit surprised your request has been processed and is with the technical department they should phone shortly to arrange a date and time for installation".

Thinking yeah this is Telkom, it would still take some time to complete. Monday morning they phoned again to say they would be installing on Wednesday (tomorrow) so let's wait and see if that is really the case :)

In total 7 days or 5 working days so far not too bad.
 
well sofar i applied for my land line.
they coming on the 21st December ( yes this month ) to activate it. then will see how much longer after that they take to sort out my DSL
 
Well just as an update. As I posted earlier they were to come and install today and guess what they actually did.

In total from the day I phoned 10219 to completed full installation took 1 week. And the best part of it all the router syncs at the full 10Mbps. So I have to give credit to Telkom on this one they lived up to their promises.
 
I've ordered a phone line, then will get adsl afterwards so I'll post feedback here too.
 
reading some of these "horror" stories is making me uneasy, planning on moving next year and the thought of losing adsl for a lengthy period of time scares me!

Waiting almost four weeks now for a new Telkom DSL installation here and nothing happening :/ So yeah, expect to lose ADSL for a lengthy period of time, or make alternative arrangements.
