Telkom ADSL line speed upgrade rollout dates

are all areas where there are 4Mbps getting the up to 10Mbps upgrade or will some of us just find ourselves getting a smaller bill

I'm also wondering if this is a case of just flipping a switch or if they're actually doing hardware upgrades. My exchange, according to Telkom's DSL checker, is only 4mbps capable - will that get bumped up or do I stay on 4mbps?

Damn, Upgrade only going to happen in Jan :(

Can I upgrade to 2meg ( manually) and get the my line auto upgraded to 4megs, then downgrade to 2megs on the new price profile?

Notice the amount of time to upgrade the respective line speeds from 1024Kbps to 2048Kbps which I believe is a fair indicator that entry level ADSL forms the majority of Telkom's client base.

4 to 10 Mbps = 8 days
2 to 4 Mbps = 6 days
1 to 2 Mbps = 2 months

Option of smaller bill I believe for exchanges where 10Mbps is not available.

Perhaps, but you're forgetting about the network freeze over Dec/Jan

No i tried that already they will leave your order pending until 1Mbps is bumped up to 2Mbps which is in jan :( Telkom advised me this morning i should wait until end of the month then move from 1Mbps to 4Mbps :)

Sheesh.. I'm glad I was impatient then. I manually upgraded to 2Mbps at the end of October.

Why can't we get the Attainable Rate? I mean it is attainable?
