Used to be 384, speed results now showing: Downloading 0.93 Mbps Uploading 0.42 Mbps Area: Blouberg Cape Town

Surely 1 Mbps users should be upgraded first? Otherwise it means that I'm paying more than an upgraded 384 Kbps user for the same speed.

DownStream Connection Speed 379 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 108 kbps

/side note: at least 2 disconnects a day now since 1st June... have to power cycle modem to connect again, usually early morning and then late evening. Never had this before.

That sucks man, you're not even syncing at 384 so I'm sure sure if your line will cope at 1024.

Eish I know. Tried the 1mb thing 2 years ago, had endless issues... the exchange is vrot I was told. Telkom advised to wait until the exchange is un-vrotted, so went back to 384 and have been stuck at this ever since. 4 routers 2 modems,3 ISPs and 3 moves and 2 houses later... the exchange is still vrot.

At 384 it works fine... no problems.

I was kinda hoping (praying) that with this upgrade the vrot exchange would also be upgraded.

No, he is on an ADSL2+ exchange. Typically the sync rates are a few kb lower than on older G.dmt DSLAMs. This means he will likely be fine (and in one of the first waves upgraded).

I think it was due to rumours that Mweb had already started to upgrade their "all inclusive" customers.

Surely that's a bit higher than a 1024 line? It seems like you no longer have the TCP overhead! Does your router still say that you're syncing at 1024?

Also noticed downloads ave 100kB/s - 97 kB/s .... but still syncing at 1024
