People i thought that if your isp manages your dsl line (Axxess) , you will get better service?
Same for telkom if u phone them, they hang up on you (busy checking if technician available in are)
or just put u on hold till u put the phone down..(wonder if they still got staff???_)


2 bloody weeks almost , stories & excuses from both sides...
but u must , otherwise line/account immediatly off...f...that

worst of it if your job depends on internet , especially adsl..
mine is remote support, but gues what i must use 3g (freaking r3000 in data already)


ps: no english not my language and yes this is written in rage against the @sses
 
Sorry bud you thought wrong the only thing that happens when any ISP manages your line is you save like R20. There are hundreds of threads saying LEAVE YOUR LINE WITH TELKOM.
 
Made the exact same mistake. I moved into my new house on the first of Feb telkom came and installed the phone line in lightning time - shocking i know - and now i have been waiting two weeks for my VDSL line to be activated. Got a message from Axxess saying the line has been activated but it does not sync at all. Tested my router and cables so i know its not on my side. Axxess is useless they deducted the money for the line off my account when it has never worked. How can i go about moving my line to telkom? I don't know how Axxess wone the ISP of the year award they are utterly useless!
 
thats one mistake ill rectify when line is back..
@AndrewB25 , if ts part of a combo, uou have split it, and request axxess to move it within immediate effect (can take few days) and i think they will charge also for that...
ASSIA screwed everyone, no point of having line with isp anymore
 
Yeah now that your ISP has your line to move it back can take 2 weeks (Telkom changed this). You are without internet during this time

Your line can also get lost in this process where neither Telkom or your ISP know where it is and both put the blame on the other.

So its almost better to keep your line at the ISP and deal with Telkom directly unless your cool with the down time.

I really just want internet. This is just so ridiculous. I have had a fault logged with telkom for almost two weeks to get this resolved and nothing has happened. What is the point of paying Axxess for line rental when i am the one having to deal with telkom when there is an issue.
 
@AndrewB25 my point exactly..i donot want to deal or speak to telkom even..now i must call on isp behalf? f...n no
 
@vip3r011za it is very disappointing. I always believed it was better to have your ISP manage your line as it would save you the headache that is telkom but you live and learn i suppose.
 
Just an update. Still dont have my line working! I am so tired of this. I will never recommend Axxess again.
 
I know the feeling.If I get two days of internet in a row without disruption Im lucky.Axxess sucks.I have another acccount with Mweb I highly recommend them.
 
SO finally after three weeks of no internet i get a call from a telkom techie saying i am too far from the exchange to get a 20mbs VDSL sync. At this point i don't care i just want internet at my house. He said i need to get my ISP to call telkom and they can change my speed over the phone. I sent an email to @TheAxxessLady with no response. From what the tech said on the phone this should be a simple and quick process so i really hope this is resolved by the end of today. I am still baffled as to how this took three weeks to resolve such a simple issue and it only got resolved after my father reached out to a contact at telkom. I would never recomend anyone use an ISP to manage their line but now it looks like i am stuck with it as i cannot deal with another two weeks without internet if it actually works after all this.
 
I really dont know what to do anymore. I received a pm from Charl saying that the tech saying i cannot get the 20mbps line is bs as quote "line showed an attainable rate of 24mbps before the current failure". I just want internet access so i asked Axxess to continue with the line speed change but nothing has happened with that either. I emailed them about the line speed change at 2.45pm on Tuesday and from what the lying tech told me they can sort it out with a phone call to telkom but nothing has happened still no sync on my line. But maybe he was just talking crap again.
 
@Axxess.. technical support clueless and useless as usual with so call adsl line "management"
LINE DEAD in sy m**r since last week friday again..

I REALLY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO LEAVE LINE WITH TELKOM AND RATHER WAIT 2HOURS ON THE PHONE ..

BECAUSE THEY WANT TO PLAY BLAME CAME , AXXES SAYS ITS TELKOM, TELKOM SAID THEY DIDNT LOG A FAULT, BLAH BLAH BLAH..

BUT U MUST PAY FOR SERVICES ON BOTH SIDES THAT U DONT USE??
 
a typical generic reply in template form from isp...WHY THE F..K do isp still offer to "manage" lines..
