Telkom braces for more 'faceless accusations'

a collection of untested allegations produced by a group of anonymous individuals

MD of Telkom SA, Pinky Moholi, said: “I am annoyed at having to respond to yet another dossier from the same sources

Wait, I thought you said they were anonymous, but somehow you are absolutely sure they're from the "same sources"?

And, the SA Funny Man award goes to ... drum roll.... more drum roll.... symbols clash!

In conclusion, Acting Group CEO Jeffrey Hedberg said: “While we are taking these matters seriously, it is unfortunate that the time and energy of the executive team has to be expended in diversions of this nature. It detracts from our core function of serving our customers effectively.”

Telkom executives/board members/government, you are a useless bunch of idiots!

Please hurry up and evolve!!

Telkom, you don't have to worry if the complaints from the "faceless" individuals are "factless", but if they are not, you are "facked".

Damn, I was hoping to be the first one to post about Telkom's pathetic call centre PBX system, Telkom's pathetic call centre agents and Telkom's pathetic fault resolution times, but I see Telkom's other customers have jumped the gun.

He speaks of their reputation as though it is good?

I'm somewhat puzzled by the arrogance/naivety/deceptiveness of that :/ I can't even find the right word...

Sorry.. What is Pinky actually saying? That they distort the information or that it is already distorted when they get it? And what is this privilege of position bull? Do they know who the people are in other words? I thought they were faceless. How do they know the people are in a privileged position? Or is this more drivel about anything against corruption in SA is from hateful white people? And therefor these people must be white and because they are white they must therefore be privileged.

Pinky surely you can do better than this!.. Your statements sound more political than anything else. I wonder why... This drivel coming from your privileged mouth nauseates me.

You must understand that as long as they can convince the populace that it is somehow some dramatic political plot they will be supported.

I'm still waiting for them to activate an ADSL line. All they have to do is flick a switch. :/

Everything else is installed and ready to go!

Telkom whines about ..

accuses the company of poor corporate governance

then a bit further they acknowledge that they indeed have the aforementioned problem ..

It is the Board’s view that: “Given the uncertainty about the leadership, it is anticipated that

Could those 'faceless accusations' perhaps be true?

The one that takes the cake for me though, is ..

It detracts from our core function of serving our customers effectively.”

Excuse me why I laugh .. hahahahaaa!!! No seriously .. whahahahahaaaa!!!

What's truly tragic is that Jeffrey probably enthusiastically believed every single word he said.

lol yeah

People really need a clue who think Telkom and Customer Service can even be used in the same sentence together.

Faceless drivel

Yes, the dosssier authors are known, they compete for CEO position, not on merit but by badmouthing the strongest competitors for the job. They also use privileged documents by virtue of being executives/ board members, feed them to unionists and external authors. Yes, walk thro Telkom passages, everyone know who the two most seniors leaks are!!!!

I am no fan of Telkom but they have my sympathy here.

People are mixing their Telkom hate (which in some cases people have legitimate reasons) with the merits of the dossier. They are separate.

The 1st dossier was in the main nonsense. The IT/Telecomms press said as much.
The claims made struck me as disaffected employees trying to hurt their bosses and company.

I don't deny that a small % of the claims may have merit but throwing a ton of mud and seeing what sticks is not fair.
Telkom are forced to waste time investigating every allegation and defending themselves.

I don't know what dossier Number 2 says but if it indeed comes from the same sources as Dossier Number 1 then I am skeptical about its value.

What it does say to me is that Telkom need
* For the governments golden vote to end
* The new board to be properly constituted
* The board to elect a new CEO. This has to be from the outside because anything else will cause the CEO to start off tainted. I rate Pinky but unfortunately tainted even though I don't see any merit in the accusations against Pinky.
* A new strategy
* Relentless and aggressive execution of the strategy

Much as we may slate Telkom we need them to step up and do well

I don't know their names - Wish I did.

I wish they could prove the leakers because its grounds for dismissal (except if its legitimate whistle blowing)

And again another reason why the politicized golden vote must end.
In a normal company anyone leaking bogus (or largely bogus) info would have zero chance of becoming CEO.In fact they would probably be sacked, and rightly so.

Actually even if its 100% false it does a lot of damage and its a lot of work.
10 years ago there was a blatantly false allegation in a blog about my company.
No journalist called me. No trouble was caused and still I had to take action. (Investigating diligently, getting the blog post removed (was a reputable site), tracking down the alleged ex-employee, writing him a letter etc).
A lot of useless work for 1 allegation that raised no questions and was easy to disprove
