Telkom call centre problems - please share your experiences

I was recently alerted that there were a few forumites experiencing long waiting times with Telkom's call centre.

I've had a similar experience recently (7 January 2015): waiting over 30 minutes to report a problem dialling an MTN call centre number from Telkom landlines in Centurion. The issue is not yet resolved and Telkom and MTN are saying the problem is on the other end.

Have you experienced problems with Telkom's call centre recently?

Please share your experience in this thread, mentioning at least the date(s) you called and how long you were on hold.

Jan, a number of people have posted their feedback. Are you intending to raise with Telkom? Any idea when we can expect some feedback?
 
Wanted to close a fault I logged earlier today, but...

Gave up ten minutes later.
 
Called on 06/02/15 - waited 35 minutes and then I had to put down because my lunch break was over.
 
Tried Phoning last night 06 Jan 2015 @18H00, First phoned 1023 to get the ADSL support number, Waited one minute. I asked the guy for the number for ADSL home support he gave me the 10210 number he confirmed that they are open and said I must be patient as the call center is running on skeleton staff. I phoned 10210 and waited 30min + and gave up. meh , will try again today.
 
Telkom had to shed approximately 1000 positions. This due to their extensive restructuring. They are pleading poverty. Quick clip note, 2013 share price R11 current share price +-R78. 700% return in 2 years. Now lets change our strategy and sacrifice customer service delivery, very smart move.
 
Telkom is so useless. Call centre does not answer. Do not have the time to hold on.
Phone line including ADSL has been down for 5 days.

I totally give up !!!
 
I called twice last week and over the weekend. Longest time - just over 1-5 hrs, the rest - the phone gets put down or disconnected.
Then when I do get through - and this is each time - the call centre person goes through the whole call and then promptly decides to close a call open for 2 weeks and log a new call without even asking me.
 
Called at 7am today and got through in <1min only to be tortured by a brainless idiot that had no clue what he was doing for the next 25min
 
Had to phone them twice today for two separate issues.

Total time waited from dialing till answer was 1h 46min

Have a Latency of 1543 ms. Still waiting for the Telkom tech. Internet, specifically: Gmail virtually unusable.
 
I have called everyday, waiting no less than 45 each time to find out when a technician would come through and sort out my line. To date, nothing has happened.
 
My mother just held on for 45 mins to get our lined bumped back to 4meg since we dropped it to 2 on Monday to check stability. The lady answered, told my mom it is on 4meg and put the phone down, after another 30 mins wait she got through to the SAME person. Now all of a sudden the line is back on 4meg. I am definitely moving the line to my new ISP, cannot deal with these people again.

Exchange congestion most likely, Can you specify what times you generally have slow access on your line or is it all the time?
