Telkom call centre problems - please share your experiences

I tried a few times and put down after 30 mins. Then I decided to do a test and was determined to hold on until someone picked up. After 90 mins I couldn't do it any more so put down.

Emailed support. Get confirmation of my email but 10 days and still no actual answer.

What is the point in offering ways to contact them if they never answer or reply?? Incredibly frustrating.

i also discovered that it was free (my only option since i dont have a phone on my landline)

only problem, and it happened three times - the call disconnects on 60 minutes. Quite a frustration to wait 53 minutes, speak 7 minutes to an operator, and then have to repeat due to the telkom mobile call dropping :(
 
Yea, calling telkom to get to their billing department (10210) since they charge me for n whole month of no service, and then charge me for 4meg usage when they only deliver 2meg(stable). I told them to make it 2 meg, yet they still charge me for 4 meg. The machiene keeps referring my last fault and status, but does not give me the option to sellect the billing department, then you wait 45 mins to speak to a consultant, who tehn has to patch you trhough to the billing department, only for the call to go engaged after 5 mins.... ai they should just pack up and bugger off so we could get better service.
 
Ensure you have a record of that initial fault: Insist they refund you the 17 days pro-rata.

They've done this for me for exchange faults in the past- if we hold them to this, there's more incentive for them to get things fixed...

I am on day 21 now. still nothing. and they are going to make january free. trust me.

I will not pay for a service not rendered.

also it took them 5 days to respond to my tweets. and I sent about 3 per minute last week to try and get a response.
and I spoke the telkomZa here. that didnt help, lazy Fscker straight up lied to me.

on the plus side this made me find Bitco, and it looks like I will be up and running with them before telkom sorts out my problem. granted BitCo has a 2 week turnaround time.
 
telkomZa is likely inundated with PMs... I'm not sure what percentage of their time is allocated to MyBB issues..

They've helped me in the past, but it did take a while. Still easier and likely faster than dealing with the call centre though. Certainly MUCH less frustrating.

Yea, they did fire allot of telscum employees, most propably the only ones that actually knew wtf they were doing.
I want to go over to BitCo, but not sure how their service is, and when they will come to my small insignifficant town. Bitco seems like the way to go currently. I did email them again today so hopefully they will reply with a awsome answer.

I bet you won't get through at all. It is peak time for internet usage and peak time when they were fully staffed was already like 20min wait atleast. No way you will get anyone to answer the phone now.
 
Telkom called me the other day offering to upgrade my 4mb - 10mb. I laughed at them cause i knew their Exchange don't support which they then finally realised!
 
I'm scared to phone them for anything - always have been, but now is worse
 
Been trying to upgrade my ADSL from 4mb to 10mb since Friday. I've made 4 calls so far and each time they have stories about patching, syncing etc, but I'm still on 4mb and they can't seem to figure out why.
Waited about 30 - 40 mins each time for them to answer, last night was the worst, about 80 minutes.
And then they have the guts to send me an SMS to rate their callcentre service from 0 to 10. Needless to say they got a big fat ZERO.
 
I deal with Telkom Call center about 10/15 times a month and
as from January 2015 it takes 25-35 mins just to get a rep on the line....

I have never experienced that in 2014(average time to get a rep was about 10-15mins)

looks as if all the ISP reps have left myBB. Except CW of course.

Yes, their call answer system detects your number and transfers you to the Pinnacle Call Centre, I have to say that since the lay-offs last year I've had to hold for a few minutes for them whereas your call was answered immediately before :(
 
So I have given up. I'm a busy man and cant really wait an hour on phone or a line at Telkom stores. Tried both and its pathetic. Now i went back to Fax communication to see if i get better response. All I want to do is cancel my data package. Why cant we do it online???

Trick question.....how many Telkom staff does it take to upgrade an ADSL line? Made call no. 4 last night. Was told that they will change my port at the exchange. Got a sms earlier this afternoon saying my case has been closed. Got home and guess what, line still syncs at 4meg. I give up!
