Telkom CEO makes millions

The more I think about things like this I can't justify in any way how it is possible to earn that much, sure if you are some kind of entrepreneur that build a business from scratch then it is acceptable. But not for a entity that is half owned by government and was funded by my tax money for so many years! and a monopoly to boot.

I wonder how the poor 16000 employees that was retrenched by Telkom over the last 10 years feel about this? Very S H I T!

Thankyou! Someone with some common sense.

Look at MTN, Vodacom, Cell C etc. etc. etc. They earn > ten million too. It's just what CEO's are paid. Stop being jealous and work harder, then one day maybe you'll be stinking rich too.
 
Sigh.. Business connections directors earn R1 000 000 + and there are alot of them. and that company is only worth R5 a share. Seriously, think with your heads for a moment.

R1 900 000 salary = R1 140 000 after tax. The richer you get the more expenses you have. I can bet you R5000 he is lucky if he saves a single cent in a month.

Imagine how much money they would have had if they weren't listed.

Besides he doesn't have a salary of R200 000 per month.

Here is some basic math
There are 12 months in the year, * 200 000 = R2 400 000. His Salary is R1 900 000.
 
outrageous is ppl who think directors of massive companies should earn as much as us poor plebs

thats just not the way life works

the bonus system seems about right as well, i get a 13th cheque which is double my salary and my buddie gets a 14 cheque twice as much as his salary
 
The Telkom Group made R14Bn profit last financial year, but remember most of that is from Vodacom. So as a shareholder, you would be pretty pleased that your CEO made that kind of profit and thus award him such a salary. It would be a different story however if it were just Telkom.

Thanks to AA and BEE which made it possible. No relation to expertise or experience but just lucky he was there and who he knows. His performance proved that part. I said at the start with his appointment and first show and MyBB encounter that he is a crook and an slimey character. never trusted him. Well the proof was in the pudding (or putuPap), was it not.

The new communist way, Riches to the few and nothing to the masses.

The huge amount of money was paid for doing what? How did he deserve that. If you feel the comment is inappropriate then just delete it. You have the POWER! :D

A CEO's job is doing absolutely nothing, just attending "Lunch Meetings" hahahahahaha. This is disgusting, how can anyone spend all that money??
