Telkom CEO makes millions

Telkom’s current CEO, Reuben September, received a total compensation of R19 108 837 over the last year. This was made up of a basic salary of R2 453 757, a performance bonus of R3 436 308 and benefits totaling R13 218 772.

R13 218 772 in benefits? So that's the price tag they put on a decent broadband connection. ;)

The ANC wants to establish a black upper class as quickly as possible regardless of the costs to society and even if means they're hurting their own people.

The most important thing to make a democracy work and for a economy to grow and become stabile is for a strong middle class to emerge.

This is the last thing on black African people's minds. They believe in centralized power. Look at Mugabe. He isn't mad. He just believes that his system is the best for Africa. He's making a mistake in the process but that's another story.

It took, with an average of R300 ADSL line rental, 63700 odd ADSL lines were needed to cover his yearly compensation. I cant recall the exact amount of ADSL lines there are, but whats the guess if you take the line rental of all those lines, add them up, it works out to the bonuses for top management?

ADSL line rental = TELKOM TAX

I've got a couple of questions:
What does one do with all that money? Performance bonus... so how much will that performance bonus be if telkom actually performs! Think of all the support staff they can appoint with all that money.

Mostly, what one does with all that money is pay tax.

Oh and I can settle my 20years bond with a couple of days in his seat!

Must be the best job in SA. Doesnt matter if the company performs or dies you still get your $$$$$.

Their salaries are nothing compared to what Telkom management have really cost and continue to cost SA......

What a silly comment that has got nothing to do with the article.

If you look up the remuneration of JSE listed company Execs, you will find that he is not the only one earning that money. Show me a CEO that was fired and did not get a golden handshake. Where you see the Race card is simply beyond me.
