Telkom claims great support

stop moaning all of you, we are the 20% that don't get answered in 20 seconds.

We are just that unlucky!!!

:D:D:D

But really now, I honestly don't think a call has ever been answered in 20 secs!

Unbelievable!:eek: Just shows that any stats produces are a complete fabrication. Telkom stats, crime stats, hiv stats!!

I normally watch a tv series while I'm holding on!

Great Service!

Good job Telkom! Keep up the "great" work!

I think when they only had about 10 customers they claimed the title : Great Service!

hehehehe, this was a good laugh though...

Maybe they were measuring their performance in Jupiter seconds or something.

Makes you wonder though, Ruben earns 70K an hour and still cannot get a call center working...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

20s for a machine to answer your call means jack if you are on hold for another hour.

I loathe automated answering systems, I am sure that they are the work of the devil or something!

Hogwash doesn't even begin to describe it.

I have had a slow download problem (4Mb line with downlink < 200kb/s international: uplink speed is > downlink speed) for close on a month.

Telkom have closed the incident three times without resolving the issue.

I now have to stand in the queue to log the same incident for the fourth time

U should phone Customer Care with ur original ref number and they will have the previous fault re opened

They use to be much better before they retrenched more than half of their staff down to only 26000 odd. Guess that was the easiest way to get the extra cash to pay the CEO's more.

So we now with the new hotline we have fault logging, Customer Care and the hotline. Y don't they just put all those ppl 2gether and make one big call centre. Half the time I don't even know who 2 phone 2 log my fault as there are so many different numbers and options to choose from and most of the time after finally getting ur call answered they just transfer u 2 another department so u can do it all over again.

telkom and service should not be in the same sentence

I agree... they MUST referring to the initial answer by the automated call queuing system?

Automated callback system is the pits!

Am I the only one having issues with Telkom's callback system?

Twice I have been asked if I want to have Telkom call me back, only to have the phone ring, I answer, and hear "Because you did not answer the call, you will have to phone back and enter the queue again".

I'm guessing that it thinks that the call has gone to voice mail, and so it gives up. In a way, it makes sense. But it doesn't help me when it can't distinguish between voice mail and a real person answering the call - all it does is make me mad(der).

IT is so so strange to me how Ruben Septembuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurh can receive annual package of R19mil (R73k) per DAY but the retrench like 300 call centre staff in April.

Longest on the line as 1hr:45min ON MY CELL! Telkom... You are the bomb!!

The article gives a very good explanation as to why my friend's parents have for the last 8 weeks endured Telkom hell/limbo w.r.t. their ADSL/voice service. The examples cited in the article might as well have been about their experiences!

They are indeed correct about the 20 seconds. 1 Telkom second = 4 minutes of real time.

Liers, liers, liers. My ADSL packed up last week. Twice I tried to log a call with Telkom. After and average wait time of 40 minutes I gave up and went to the closest shopping centre and logged the call there.

THis weekend, same *****, differ day.

Was on hold for 45mins, while watching a movie, dropped the phone and went for a beer. This morning same again.

TO Telkom:

To whom it may concern:

Your call centre is a joke and your service is a spaz!
