Telkom Closer 2 offer

I have just had a call from Telkom offering me a "Closer 2" package for R177.

According to Dineshri, this includes a various "free" minuets, CLI and an Uncapped 1Mb/s line and two line rentals, all in.

I cannot find this offer on the Telkom site http://www.telkom.co.za/general/pricelist/telkom_closer_homeline.html

This sounds like a literally unbelievable offer, is it too good to be true?

If I had to guess I would say that it's a normal Closer 2, with the 3 month free promotional uncapped bolted on. After that you'd have to pay the full amount.

That makes sense, now I wonder how many people are in for a nasty surprise in 3 months times...

You should actually contact them back and find out if that is the case. If so ask them why they did not mention that this special price would end in 3 months time.

Though it does not surprise me coming from Telkom

Thats right.I'm on the Closer 3 option and waiting for the free 3 month uncapped service.Will only pay the R333 for the 3 months.

Were you cold-called on your land line or cell?

I got a robo call center call from an unknown number on my cell which I ignored, then they called on the land line. Then they offered me a land line... I did explain that they had just called me on one but they said that the offer stood. I'm waiting for the promised return call.

Well 2 days and no follow-up so that was nothing.
